The current federal government is very dishonest and stupid. They haven't taken any good action to resolve the issue.. It's shame. You use 1.4 billion to buy cars, use billions for projects in Niger Republic, acquit corrupt politicians and civil servants who have embezzled billions of like naira Abba Kyari, Ahmed Idris and others through the court, but you can't financially provide for ASUU's demands as you agreed with them, initially. Buhari is a leadership failure

If you’re never tired of collecting loans, keep on with the strike till new year.

You fit no even see money buy bag of rice for Christmas for your kids.

I am a student and I fully support FG not paying their 6 months salary for abdicating from work.

Who will pay back students for their house rents that have wasted ? Nobody. Is it their fault ? No.

FG should never ever pay them. Let them strike till next year.

Be ready to lose more academic sessions. It's your type that do not attend classes and so you do not know the relevance of revaterlization.

Well no Universities in South East and South West collect 30k as school fees in this Naija. Who told you the government has agreed to the UTAS? Well you ain't informed, not your fault. Edo state University with enough classes and equipped laboratory? If there are students that stand in that your state University while lecture is on, oboy it is not up to standard.

The money that have been looted for so many years, don't you think it would've gone a long way in equipping our Universities? We want everything cheap abi, well the cheap one you attended is really showcasing itself.

No need arguing with a novice who doesn't know his right.

UNILAG, UI, FUTMINNA many of their courses..their fee is 30k from 200lv..

FUTMINNA engineering school students pay 30k from 200lv...go and confirm..I'm the one that should not be arguing with you..

you are talking about rights? don't shift goal post..tell me any institution where students pay $50 for fees and the school functions up to standard..or to cover all the FG owned institutions ..let raise the benchmark to $100.. mention anyone... you are free to include universities from togo and Cotonou cheesy cheesy cheesy

you dont know Edo state University... no student stand there...that institution is the most equipped government owned institution ever...Go and find out...I'm not talking about Ambrose Ali ..a simple google search will help you

the argument has always been about UTAS plus some other fee.. if both ASUU and the FG agree that what is preventing final agreements for resumptions to begin is for the FG to pay all the months they didnt work for...it means other demands has been settled to some extents.. ASUU is using it usual body language to hide it.. their final bus stop to resume activities is for the Fg to pay back the months of no work no pay

if ASUU isnt wailing about UTAS anymore that should tell you something...watch all the recent interview and statement from osodeke..no be today all this nonsense dey start.. the N1 trillion they were initally demanding for..any story about that again?

My question to the FG and whoever supports the FG in this persecution of Lecturers is, who is going to complete the backlog of work that has stockpiled since February 14?

The nature of work done by academic lecturers puts them in a position where there is a lot of work to be done in every semester from the class room to the lab to the office dealing with scripts and documents etc. In most cases, Universities are under staffed, hence the workload. If the lecturers don't do their work for 6 months, that job will be there waiting for them because unlike other kinds of jobs where you can just resume and start from current activities, the lecturers have to start from where they stopped. The students cannot for example move to the next level if they have not been taught, if they don't take their exam and have their scripts marked.

So if the FG can contract the backlog of work stockpiled since February 14 till date to someone else, then their no work no pay policy will be upheld. In fact the FG should be helping the lecturers to resolve this backlog of work that have resulted due to the striking process, this would show their commitment to education. But you see, the FG doesn't give a fvck whether the work is done or not. not paying the lecturers the six months salary would mean that they can resume and abandon the work on the table. The fact that the FG know this and has decided not to do anything about it is what should disturb the students and Nigeria as a whole.

I totally support FG on this. Let them resume first and can thereafter appeal/beg/renegotiate with FG on their pay while on strike.

ASUU is a very selfish body that loves going on strikes because they always get paid for staying at home. 90% of their reason for embarking on this strike in selfish.

You waste 2 years of my life, but want me to support you getting paid for wasting my life ?

I will rather waste 2 more years than support FG paying you for those months of strike.

You were paid during 2020 strike merely because FG had sympathy owing to covid 19 lockdown.

FG can change their mind later to pay you, I won’t know. But if it were left for me as a student, I don’t support you getting paid.

My house rent is wasting and I’ll pay new one from nothing, my years are wasting but you want me to support you. Please go on with the strike, who has lost 2 years can easily lose few more months.

My joy is you will never get paid for what you had done.

Tell government to compensate you. Agreement is agreement, they should fulfil it and stop looking for sympathy from the public. Do you even know the practical aspect of your course? How was your first year lectures? How many times did you sit to write notes?

Are you surprised no presidential candidate is speaking about doing anything for ASUU if elected into power ?

Because they don’t have plans for you guys.

Because they know how selfish you guys are. You speak of all these but in real sense, it is salaries, arrears, increase of retirement age, and other selfish, not selfless demands, that you prefer FG to grant.

All this nonsense you wrote is not what we are saying!

What we are saying is simple....

ASUU did not work and shouldn't expect to be paid, 100% correct!..
because, no one pays the poor students for the time lost?

Lost time caused by you greedy cold criminals called ASUU.

Asking to be paid for work not done is criminal.

No pay no work would deter ASUU from punishing innocent students with their incessant strike.

So what's ASUU's responsibility to the students? So ASUU don't want to take any responsibility.
