WhyNa:
Sometime in 2019, I started nursing the idea of teaching English abroad.

I did a lot of research, lost a lot of sleep, penciled down and weighed my options. I was also lucky to meet a senior bro who towed the same line and is doing well. God bless him real good.

The first thing I found out was I was going to need an English certificate, preferably CELTA which was going to be a one month intensive course.

Only problem was....it would cost a fortune

Hello
I want get details about the Teaching English in Vietnam.

Good afternoon @All, please is it possible for someone with an evisa [tourist visa with a month validity] to secure a job before his/her visa expires? I see their evisa application is hassle free from what i read on their site. One doesn't need to visit the embassy or be interviewed by a consular. https://vietnamvisa-au.com/

You're paid the equivalent of 10,000 - 20,000 naira per hour. That's how we make money

Hi,

I already stated I don't know much about student's admission but it's pretty straight forward.

Some nairalanders following this thread have gotten admission and some are here already sef. I know cos I helped most of them pay their school fees. If only they can come back to share their experience and put people through.

But basically, you should...
1. Make a list of the schools you want to apply to
2. Take note of their admission period. I think admission for September is currently over
3. I'll advise you to use a laptop when browsing school websites. The website would be in Vietnamese but when you use a laptop, google tranlates the site for you so it's easy to understand and navigate
4. Once on the website, search for their email address
5. Go to google translate and type all the enquiries you want to do and tranlate it to Vietnamese. Be clear, send your documents if possible and state the course and session you're applying for. This will save you having to send multiple mails waiting for replies each time. Copy that translated maial and send to them
6. If they have an agent, they will refer you to their official agent but 95% of them deal directly with students
7. Send to as many schools as possible
8. If you're using a laptop and admision is open and you are able to apply, apply! Then follow up with mails.

This is the much I can say about applying to schools here

About schooling and working, majority of schools tell you you can't work. Doesn't mean people don't. I have no idea about the legal implications so please do your own research
