Carnegie Mellon University professor Uju Anya posted on Twitter several hours before the Queen's death that she hoped the Queen an 'excruciating death' She then doubled down on her vile sentiment and said she had nothing but 'disdain' for the Queen The university responded that they don't condone Anya's sentiment but reiterated that 'free expression' was important to them Her vile tweets were slammed by thousands online, including Amazon CEO Bezos Her Majesty died Thursday at the age of 96. She passed away surrounded by members of the Royal Family at Balmoral Castle in Scotland After posting an initial tweet hoping for the Queen's 'excruciating death,' Carnegie Mellon University professor Uju Anya reiterated her beliefs about the late monarch and said she 'supervised a government that sponsored genocide.' But the university has so far refused to punish their professor, and said in a statement posted to Twitter Thursday evening 'We do not condone the offensive and objectionable messages posted by Uju Anya today on her social media account.' 'Free expression is core to the mission of higher education,' they said, indicating Anya would not see consequences for her tweet. 'However, the views she shared absolutely do not represent the values of the institution, nor the standards of discourse we seek to foster,' they concluded. "Nothing will happen to Uju. She lives and works in America where a majority don't give a damn about the British Monarchy." https://www.nairaland.com/kemistri4/posts#:~:text=Nothing%20will%20happen%20to%20Uju.%20She%20lives%20and%20works%20in%20America%20where%20a%20majority%20don%27t%20give%20a%20damn%20about%20the%20British%20Monarchy. I predicted this yesterday. Lol. America isn't like Britain where tingods are worshipped Most Americans don't give a sh*t about the British Monarchy and even consider the entire Royal thing as stupid 4 Likes |

Freedom of speech. Even though I don't agree with her choice of words I cannot condemn her for saying what she said. She is entitled to her opinion. |

Many people don't know that the controversy generated by Anya's tweets will leave the university in public discourse, thus, increasing their ranking among other world universities. Watch out the school's position in the next global varsity rankings. It must surely come up. 1 Like |

Some said the British brought ended slavery, killing of twins and brought education I laughed. There is a huge difference between Queen Elizabeth and the Christian missionaries. There were all British but had different ambitions, goal, and purpose of coming to the Africa. 1). The queen had her purpose of invading Africa 2). Mongo park had his purpose 3). Columbus had his purpose 4). Mary Slessor a Scottish had her purpose Majority of the good things you mentioned above if not all was carried out by Christian missionaries who by their good intentions built schools and gave free educations, clothed the necked, constructed bridges, medical treatment, and gave scholarships to people and preached against slavery to the Queen and cohort. Marry Slessor a missionary preached against twins killing not the queen and co. It wasn't the queen that did these things. Later lots of Christians like Marthin Luther King junior began to preach against racism and slavery that was when the west including the queen and co had no choice than to stop those atrocities. They then invaded our natural resources like crude, gold, diamond, etc....... Maybe you should ask yourself the full meaning of the word "colonization" and to whose benefits |
