Yup. The pandemic really helped BBN in 2020. It was the getaway fun Nigerians & Africans in general used to pass time when movement was restricted globally. It has the highest views till date, highest votes as well till date. It's my most watched edition too as I only went to work once or twice a week and had enough time to watch the show till the end. The HMs were entertaining too.

It'll be hard for any future season to match the viewership feats set by that season.

Before Lockdown season I never posted about BB on my facebook. During, I did and I saw my colleagues commenting (cos they were watching)

Now at work they ask about the HMs (all of them prefer Level 2- showing an interest in the show -cos L2 had more overt action versus the subtle drama in L1)

They don’t vote (can’t be bothered) and watch only after work
They certainly won’t follow the HMs or if they do, can’t be passionate about them
(true addicts (not stans) of the show are loyal to Biggie not HMs, remember)

Additionally, more people are reading the kind of fame/deals they give HMs with followings and maybe are unconsciously becoming unwilling to follow as before?

There was a more emotional and intentional investment to following Erica, Laycon etc that was/is more than is usual with HMS

I was just focused on the number of views which is the highest during Lockdown because of the pandemic, not because it's the most entertaining. My best BBN remains the undisputed Pepper Dem.
