I believe this post is aimed at causing disunity among the large Yoruba family either for political reasons or for any other sinister reason best known to the OP.

I have come to realise that South west is very diverse, they comprise of different ethnic nationality but conquered and dominated by yorubas. The word yoruba to me seems to be a unifying coinage just like Anioma, to bring bring all different ethnic nationals together.
However, unlike Anioma, different ethnic nationals in South west have nothing in common, aside that, they adopted yoruba language as a lingual franca..
among them are 1. Aworis : they occupy some parts of ogun state lagos and ondo state they have different culture and background, they have stated that they are not yorubas 2. The ijebus are fierce and aggressive, they have also affirmed that they migrated from sudan, so they can not be regarded as yorubas, 3. The Egun, they are found in Benin republic, lagos, Ogunn state and some part of oyo state. They have nothing in common with yorubas both in culture and language, they are the only one still tied to their traditional, maybe because they are very conservative.
others are ekiti, egba, ife, etc all these ones have aligned fully to the big family yoruba. but the question is who is the pure yoruba, because I hear people describe some with funny tags and names.. I need a very serious clarification here

Oduduwa and his Princes United and assimilated them centuries ago
Almost all SW is Yoruba
Oduduwa was a Unifier

Even the Egun of Badagry descended from Oduduwa through the Yoruba Popos

MyPopozAre Eguns yoruba?
Ijebu Royal said that they came from Sudan #fact..

The Akran of Egun Badagry is a descendant of Oduduwa and got his beaded Crown and his Royal Staff from Ile Ife

The Eguns are the Offspring of intermarriage between the Yoruba Popos of Dahomey and Togo and the Fon of Dahomey

A blind man can see the Igbos are always envious of the homogenous nature of the Yorubas. They’ve been trying to cause disunity by state (which Yorubas never fall for), by religion (which Yorubas never fall for), and by dialect (again, which we never fall for). Again, just another failed attempt at this.

They should focus on themselves. More and more igbo children in the southwest are speaking only English and a bit of yoruba. They don’t even speak Igbo anymore. Soon they will all be subsumed.

BIG FAT LIE
They all have 1 thing in common
And that is they are all descendants of Oduduwa
From Ajase (porto novo) to Ekiti to Okun in kogi....they are all descendants of Oduduwa.
The term Yoruba was initially used to describe the Oyos (present day oyo and osun states, by the Malian traders they have been trading with as far as 10th Century from whom they first brought islam to yorubaland) but later used to describe all descendants of Oduduwa.....before then they were Oyos...ijeshas....Ekiti ....Ifes etc

The Igbo Children in the SW are generally fluent Yoruba Speakers show them lots of love and in a few years time they will be marrying Yorubas ,giving their kids Yoruba names and gladly be calling themselves Yoruba without anyone compelling them to

They are all Welcome as long as the love is genuine

There are already 3rd Generation Igbos in Ibadan that if they didn't tell you you wouldn't know they have Igbo Ancestry

So true grin
Already, many of their women are marrying Yoruba men & getting Yorubanized ( if there's any word like that cheesy ).
The same cannot be said of Yoruba women who still maintain their Yoruba culture by marrying within their tribe.
You will very rarely see any Yoruba woman marrying an Igbo man. grin

Of course it did.
That's why many minorities in the South-south geopolitical region detest being associated with anything Biafra.
They prefer forming their own independent republics instead.
In contrast, non-Yoruba tribes like Bini & Itsekiri love associating themselves with the Yoruba race.
