Chreze: Air out the house everyday. Keep all the vents in the windows permanently open. In each double glazed window, there's a small vent usually at the top and sometimes it's at the bottom, slide it across and it should open the vent. For example our bathroom windows are permanently cracked open. And our bedroom windows are open on a latch especially as we also have black out blinds and thermal curtains. UK homes are built to retain heat but that also causes dampness and mustiness. Do that for about a week before spending money on a dehumidifier. In fact, spend that money on a electric airer. It's coming to winter and you'll definitely start drying more clothes inside. See link to a reasonably priced one - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Homefront-Electric-Heated-Clothes-Indoor/dp/B07P5NQKNM/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=heated+clothes+airer&qid=1662934803&sr=8-7 6 Likes |

peacenaija: Very possible, am an example. One you've been invited to an interview, one leg is in. It's left to you to prove yourself during the interview and that's it. That you got an interview invite is a big deal. Prepare and study what their competency framework is and relate it your experience. Good luck to your friend. 3 Likes |

ismailtundex05: Well, firstly, it's very unlikely thst you'd get an apartment within "a day or two". But more importantly, what I was asking is the kind of apartment you are looking for long term. I know someone who is renting out rooms in a shared apartment in Cardiff. Lastly, if you're trying to save on cost, I'd advise you to check neighbouring Towns cos Cardiff is the most expensive City in Wales. 1 Like |

hyzich: If you haven't got any audit experience, you stand very little chance of getting an experienced role in the audit arm..and I do not think they will offer him EL opportunities. However, they also have an accounting arm, he can try his luck there. They just do not have as much vacancies as an audit. |

peacenaija:One advise I have for your friend is this - Confidence! He should be confident in his responses, they saw something in his CV that piqued their interest, so he should step into that interview knowing he can kill it at the job. He should also remember that he’s equally interviewing them, so he needs to ask all the right questions at the end of the interview. All the best to your friend, he’s got this!! |

Ticha: Hi Ticha, thanks for the info. I have a similar heater in the bathroom for clothes, But it is connected to the central heating and since we have not been having the heaters on cos of summer (even tho glasgow didn’t have summer this year) hence why we have not been using. Have been airing the house and done some intentional cleaning on the window edges that could house those dust and all that. There was improvement yesterday during the day and at night too. I believe with more airing, and the Wednesday carpet washing will add more to the air quality. 1 Like |

Not having worked in a big 4 or audit firm is no barrier. When I was appointed the first time in a big 4, I was coming from govt. Second time, I was coming from consulting. I'm outta: Pay my dues!! Understanding how the big 4 (and typical large audit firm) operate and composed is important. Aside the 'audit' arm, there are so many others; advisory (like for me). Some still have technology deployment even post #Enron Valuable responses below. hyzich: idee91: Advision: peacenaija: |

ismailtundex05: I will reach out to him but you haven't answered my question on the type of apartment. Are you alone or with family? I'm hoping you don't embarass me o if I do link you up cos he's had some terrible experiences with some Nigerians and I don't want to refer anyone and spoil the small goodwill I have with him. |

peacenaija: No, preference will be for having a background in consulting. But if he can prove his worth, he would be fine without consulting experience. |
