Hello, please does this apply for applying for Maintenance/upkeep via form A from the UK? I’m yet to travel but I already have my visa. I’m thinking of applying and using my friend’s UK bank details since I haven’t opened yet and when I’m there and open an account, she can transfer to me. This is instead of buying pounds black market here before traveling. Please what do you advise? |

Definitely. You have to update IRCC with the new LOA as soon as it drops from your school. Kolajero: |

crazyscientist0: Yes. However you cannot apply for upkeep allowance before leaving Nigeria. You ought to be on ground in the UK with a UK bank account before applying since the money will be disbursed directly to student and not a third party. |

skentelelady: Hello Skentelelady, So Sorry I won't be able to actively help because of choking school activities. But, try and reach frank and or makano. They will gladly be of immense help. They are good at it. But you can drop your massages (questions) via email, and I will revert back. I wish you all the best and hope for the best ok. Keep your faith strong. The word impossibility doesn't exist in Canada study permit process. Have that at the back of your mind. 1 Like |

Olapeju18: Hello Olapeju, 1). For fall 2023, I wouldn't say is too late to apply because you never can tell when the professor has a vacant position. Why do I say this. Now in my department, one of us recently declined his PhD scholarship because he wants to go for masters. Reason being that, since his/her sole aim is PR, why spend years doing PhD when he/she can just spend 2years max and work towards his/her PR. So as a result of that, there is now a vacant position under that professor. So anyone who now writes to that Prof, showing good match to the profs research interests and ability to undertake such Prof work, is likely to get it even when those who did before him/her didn't. Again, during my time, a prof told me that she won't be accepting anymore student until 2024, which shows when the current PhD programs will end. And that was in 2020 she said that. So in summary, start to fire your cold mail. Not just anyhow cold mail. Work on it, study and learn the prof areas of research interest and publications. Align is with your interest and let him see the need that you're a right student to be in his/her research team. But most importantly seek grace of God to it ok. You will be fine las las 2). For most masters and PhD I have seen, unofficial transcripts are used for application. Then when an admission is given, you're noe to send directly to the school your official transcript from your undergraduate institution. Also, unofficial is used when writing to your supervisor. 3). You have better idea of how the said document is and if it can stand. Essence of the unofficial (which must have school logo and stamp atleast) is so student don't go about submitting doctored unofficial transcripts. S, I don't know how the document is and can say. 4). Don't have answer to this. But since it isn't from the same school and as it's below your Bsc, I think you don't really need to include that. My opinion though. Others will guide you accordingly All the best Olapeju. |

Greetings house, Due to delays from IRCC, my University has just decided to revoke my TAship contract for Fall semester with a statement to reinstate it by the Winter semester. I am already attending online classes. I have already given thanks to God for everything. Question: Should I even defer my resumption to the winter semester? Or Hold on, get my Visa and join them? God bless your efforts to address all issues of concern here. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Ketima: 3:40pm On Sep 13, 2022 |
collinsunusual: Hello, GIC is refundable but little administrative fees will be deducted and the balance sent back to the same account it was sent from when you apply for refund, showing proof of rejections and all that . As you know, GIC should come from account which bears your name. |

lolathegenie: Check your spam and know what exactly they asked for…and also what is written on your dashboard? The place where Confirmation and Biometrics letter is… as in where you see your list of messages. What is there? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Tgbengus151(m): 4:15pm On Sep 13, 2022 |
No, I don't think so. You will only be needing a transit visa if you have a layover in USA. Drawer: |
