Our navy is trying more than the other armed forces especially the airforce in terms of local technology manufacturing.
Although don't expect these ships anytime soon, since it takes the Nigerian dockyard about 3 years to complete one ship

Meanwhile, I think it's time we finally acquired our first submarine even if it's diesel. Also an additional frigate won't be bad

ARGHHHH!? We covered this extensively from all angles- financial, tactical and geopolitical. Guess why Finland, a 1st world nation by any measure has no subs?
I know you weren't here but still...

RiceProducers:

There are many mini but safe submarine designs that are now available.
Small submarines would be affordable and make the Gulf of Guinea very dangerous to an adversary. They would be very silent and can pop up to firing positions quickly and then hide.

True, but there are trade offs. Firstly there are certain fixed costs associated with subs like the Shore based Sub Support facility. Smth like Kings Bay Naval Sub Base in Georgia for the USN Tridents allowing for loading of stores, repair and maintenance under a roof allowing submerging and berthing away from nosy satellites. In typical American style its HUGE! A small (by US standards) town of 15 k spread out over 6500 ha. Expect the infrastructure to include facilities like several 50 T hydraulic hoists,

5 axis CNCs like this for precision repair and manufacture of extremely low tolerance parts and spares for the propulsion and/or weapons sytems.

Escape training tanks like this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnFXS29ExrM

not to mention cold stores, armouries and health facilities from gyms to dentistries and hospitals. The large 5 axis CNC starts at 500 k$. All under roofs with the docking bay on the beach to allow berthing.

Minimum of 2 TRVs, Torpedo Recovery Vessels like the Indian Astravahini. I can't find a price but its MUCH smaller than a 300 ft OPV about the size of a Damen Stan around 130 ft. Such size vessels start at around 40 mn$ and you'd need at least 2.

L&T Defence midget submarine SOV400

The 44 m long, 490 ton displacement midget submarine will have an endurance of 21 days and be able to traverse submerged for 80 nm and cruise for 2000 nm at a speed of 4 knots.

Designed and developed in-house, the SOV 400 will be capable of carrying a crew of ten along with the ten more special operations troops. The submarine is positioned to provide smaller navies with constrained budgets an asymmetric capability. The vessel will be utilized to deploy and recover special forces while submerged for intelligences, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR) as well as sabotage, rescue and evacuation missions.

The vessel will carry two heavyweight torpedoes outside the pressure hull for shallow-water attacks. It will be able to dive to depths greater than 100 m and travel up to 2000 nautical miles(3704 km). SOV-400 can also be carried by conventional submarines to be deployed as per mission requirements.

The SoKors have the Dolgorae class.

175 tonnes (172 long tons) full load
Length 25 m (82 ft 0 in)
Beam 2.1 m (6 ft 11 in)
Speed 16 knots (30 km/h; 18 mph)
Complement 14
Sensors and
processing systems
STN Atlas hull-mounted sonar
Pilkington CK34 search periscope
Armament 2 × 406 mm (16 in) torpedo tubes
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolgorae-class_submarine

Imo,midget subs won't fit in financially or tactically. Spending a 100 mn $ minimum to carry a couple of SEALS and/or 3 or 4 torps within the Gulf of Guinea doesn't make sense. For a starter sub I'd go for the French Andrasta at 150 mn $ and 3 mn $ yearly op cost..
Type Submarine
Displacement 855 metric tonnes (Surfaced)
Length 48.8 m (160 ft 1 in)
Draught 6.5 m (21 ft 4 in)
Propulsion Single-screw[1] diesel-electric, with batteries and AIP.
Speed 15 knots (28 km/h) (submerged)
Range 3,000 nautical miles (5,600 km)
Endurance 5 days (submerged)
Test depth >200 meters
Complement 19 crew, plus 2 passengers and 6 divers
Armament
Six torpedo tubes, which can also fire anti-ship missiles.[2]
A3SM (Mistral SAM) mast option.
Notes Design concept only. No vessels yet ordered.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrasta-class_submarine

Learn sub ops and develop doctrines. After a decade scale up with 350 mn $ Kilos. In my rough estimate the cost of the ShBaSuSuFa and all equipment and buildings alone should be minimum 500 mn $.

Senegalese Navy ship Niani has been launched, it is second in the series of OPV 58S, ordered by Senegal from the Piriou shipyards, it was launched in Concarneau yesterday. The first ship “Walo” was launched in April this year and it’ll be delivered to the navy in 2023.

I see the Russians continue the proud Soviet tradition of not bothering to recover or destroy equipment lost on the battlefield, even in areas under their control for months!

I learnt that the OPV 58S will be armed with missiles, kinda wonder who or what they are taking precautions against in the form of arming the patrol ships to that extent

100 MRAPs from UAE
the type of this MRAPs is still unknown

300 APCs from unknown sources but little information says the APCs will be coming from proforce

While plans are on the way to acquire more super tucano from the US

Plans to acquire a frigate for the Navy is already in advance stage

And trust me months from now when the new government comes in they will try to out perform the buhari's government in arms procurement, to be able to have the bragging right over the military success in the future.
This means more arms procurement grin

All excellent though it should've happened a decade ago.
Congrats!

One thing I don't like about Kenya is how they waste a lot of their land and resources by having large wildlife preserves. If you look at Europe you will barely see any native wildlife. It went extinct centuries ago. They say they earn a lot from tourism but that money is made by the international companies that own the resorts and very little trickles down the ordinary citizens.

The wildlife preserves are have a lot of minerals like iron and coal which can make jobs for millions of people and turn the country into the next china

Environmental NGOs lie to the country that they are doing well but the people in these groups are rich, get millions in donations and their children and in Europe. They care more about animals than the Kenyan people

I don't get your opinion, is it not the same coal and iron that they will steal too...... Europe and America has a lot of wildlife reserves too.

Actually those were Donetsk militia units who withdrew not Russian army guys. Yes, the J/Ukes have recaptured 3 k km2 around Kharkov. I've looked though and haven't found evidence of a comprehensive Russian defeat.
Pix of POWs and KIA are absent- pls correct me if I'm wrong but even the pro Zelensky sites had NOTHING on this.
Looking deeper I wonder if the Russian brass didn't simply order a withdrawal based on their lack of casualties. Was it a feint to draw in the enemy and flank
and ultimately encircle them in what they call a fire/sack/trap?
Question is can Zelensky's boys, lightly armed as they are hold on to the area? Their logs bases are still at least 40 k out making support difficult. Also autumn is coming soon followed by winter. In a month temps will fall to 0 Celsius and by mid Nov the average is minus 5-10 til early Feb. Again, what will the J/Uke forces do if Russians simply rely on their arty/UAV and air superiority to surround them and wait them out?
Imo, the situation will resolve itself one way or the other by early October.

WOW! An open ended question I'll try to summarise the main points. Tbh, I can't find an EFF to give not even one! Why should I? She embodied a ishystem that resource raped and literally enslaved entire continents while unknown to many non Brits solidified long standing domestic class structures into a caste system.
Many say it was Thatcher with her neoliberal policies responsible for this but no: the UK has always been poor predicated upon a strict hierarchy. Earlier last century and even before the society was composed of a tiny middle class made up of shop keepers and the domestic employees of the upper classes with a stupendously wealthy nobility/aristocracy atop it all. Everyone else was referred to by a peculiar Britishism as the 'Deserving Poor.'

Poor people who are incapable of providing for themselves and thus seen as legitimate recipients of charity. antonym ▲

These guys were the sharp end of the colonial project; the privates and Corporals at Rorke's drift, the Somme, El Alamein and Burma. They were paid a pittance and their pensions were laughable: however they were the biggest believers of propaganda and therefore knew their place.
Btw, I've seen it written but can't find the link US soldiers were paid 2.5x higher. A saying developed when they were stationed there: " they're oversexed, over paid and over here!"
These guys first saw indoor plumbing in Germany after the war. They were shocked that their similar Wehrmacht counterparts had such luxuries reserved for their upper classes. I rmbr my dad telling me a Brit buddy now late 70s first ate beef at age 15!? His fam could only afford fish. IIRC, there were 3 kids and dad was a train driver.
It's always been poor for the most part. Even today most towns anywhere in the UK have a near identical rundown look. These pix could be Luton, Essex, Liverpool or large parts of London. Germany, Belgium or Holland are def NOT nearly so effed up.

Let me sign off with this:

In Britain, the rich are richer but the poor far poorer than in Europe

[url]https://amp.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2021/apr/25/in-britain-the-rich-are-richer-but-the-poor-far-poorer-than-in-europe/url]

But no one should be happy with the fact that our poorest households have to survive on incomes a staggering 20% lower than those across the Channel (£14,700 v £18,500). That means higher poverty, lower living standards and no margin when things go wrong, such as a pandemic hitting.

She didn't make the ishytstem but undoubtedly profited immensely from it. If she tried to change anything I stand corrected.
