Hushpuppi has multiple fraud cases spanning across several countries. Aside the OP posted, is there any other crime record on the said person ?

FBI means FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION and this is not a federal crime to say the least

Wow what kind of mess is that. Is the guy a citizen? Give me his name and i will run a criminal background on him to start with. Then if you know where he stays, you can write his local police. But will be hard since you dont live here.

You can try to reach out to a couple of agencies for help. Here are a few that I'll recommend.

If I understand you correctly, you're saying you sent $12,000 to a total stranger in USA, someone you have no means of reaching if he decides to play a fast one on you...like who does that.

The only thing you can do is to send a detailed message to Interpol and FBI with screenshots of the transaction and he's acknowledgement to the transactions. If possible upload voice recordings of you calls and chats.

The investigation would take time...(months or even years) but he'll eventually be traced and apprehended.

I am right now in US,which state is the dealer from ? Do you have his phone number? Quote me with your email I will ask for more detail then u will need to send his identity if he is right here in the state, cops gonna I will report him to the cops

FBI won't track a crime of $12,000 because the tools they will use to recover the money is even more than that $12,000. If he had used a relative abroad it'll have been easy to open a dispute between the sender bank and the recipient bank to get a chargeback but that money is gone.

Thank you for your understanding. I am an automobile dealer in Texas and I can assure you that sometimes it’s not always what customer think.
This guy could be going through something and trying to settle your job. Only when you have exhausted all approaches and he seems not forthcoming then you can resort to this.
After 3 years am sure you will have his relatives or family members that can approach him and resolve this.

You've been dealing with him for 3 years without issues and now that things seem uncertain, you come to Nairaland to ask strangers who have no knowledge of your background with him for advice...

You can contact law enforcement agencies anyway. Someone has given you FBI's contact, but be sure you're being fair on him and don't ruin his reputation cos of impatience and lack of understanding.

My thoughts exactly. The moment he said he had known the guy for 3 years, I knew it was just wrong to blame the other guy without hearing his side of the story.
