Tbh we played well yesterday. The pain most fans are expressing is because that was a game we could have won. We were the better team. Also the continued trolling seems to be getting to some fans. Me included. Yesterday was a premium chance to shut everyone up.

Most of our players played well except Raphinha. Even Torres surprisingly had a decent game. My only pain and issue was we didn't score a single goal despite our numerous chances and we didn't put that much pressure on Bayern's defence. Fine we got many chances, but I'll dare say we didn't spent much time probing Bayern's weakness like they did against us. Our chances were mostly quick ones with our fast paced forwards. I feel if we had spent more time around their box just like they did for some minutes they would have cracked. Their defence was quite jittery in the first place and I find it unpalatable we didn't raise the tempo of attack and probings when they were mentally stuck initially.
Alonso had a decent game but his lack of aggression gave Sane room for continuous pressing. I hope Xavi goes for Balde in the next leg.


I was complaining at the beginning of the match to one of my fellow Cule and my annoying Chelsea friend that: if Barca could maintain and control that midfield then we're beating Bayern. If you noticed our midfield capitulated and lost focus in the early minutes of the second half that led to those goals.
A midfield block of Kessie would have averted those runs. Seeing Sabitzer get subbed for Goretzka confirmed my worries as I knew what Bayern was planning. They wanted to regain that middle that they lost to us in the first half. And they did just that. I was actually surprised that Goretzka was benched in the first place.

No need to beat ourselves up too much. It was a quality game and it showed we have what it takes to challenge the big boys. Perfecting our game as well as team understanding of the game as well as coach's proactive response will be key to achieving our full potential. As someone said, we paraded a squad with mostly new players who were yet to know themselves well and play as a team.

Xavi while he did mostly well could have prevented this if he acted quickly and proactively.
It's high time he acknowledges the top qualities of Kessie ASAP. I don't know why he's wasting that guy on the bench.
We meuve. Our next focus should be beating Inter convincingly.

Dembele is pure chaos. He gives the ball away like it's a fun thing to do. He's always been that way and it's worrying. In small games, he'll make it up with a goal or assist. In big games, he'll ghost it. His big game miss against Liverpool is something I may not forget. He was so damm erratic against Bayern. Xavi should teach him how to protect the ball and make better decisions.

Alonso did well against Bayern but he remains a needless signing. Balde and Alba are better.

Raphinha was overwhelmed but he's a new signing. Time will help him.

I think we were great, Lewy missed two clear chances, Pedri did too but played well. Gavi is a beast. The result did not reflect on the overall performance.

Bellerin is still crazily fast. I was editing a video of some of his playing time at Betis and he's not that bad.

Although I think Xavi utilizing Kounde as RB is primarily due to his capacity to pick up passes to the forwards. If not, Araujo would have been the man.

That said, I am sure we'll get better.
