Peter Oni left office in May 2014. The figures here are during the tenure of Obiano. Credit must be given to Obiano. Give us 2014 figures when Obi Waa leaving office. And tell us what major transformation did Peter Obi bring to government during his tenure after saving money. He was part of PDP economic management team, yet NIGERIA was corruption capital and no growth in economy during his tenure. He was part of committee that recommended GENCOs and discos, yet no light during the period until Buhari came in to change things now. We have light better than PDP years. Peter Obi was part of the system. He contested election under PDP with Atiku, so he was part of the PDP system until 3 months ago. You must never market Peter as new breed. He was part of the rotten system.

Peter Obi left $150m in 3 banks – Alex Otti replies Anambra govtPublished on May 19, 2017By Wale Odunsi

Former chairman of Diamond Bank, Alex Otti, yesterday stated that former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi left $150 million in three banks.

His reaction may not be unconnected to claims by Anambra state government that Obi left an empty treasury.
This is ur obi
Otti, however, insisted that Obi was a prudent leader.

He spoke while delivering a key note address. “Nigeria economic recession: Ways out of the woods”, at the 8th annual conference of the Academy for Entrepreneurial Study, at the Nigerian Institute for International Study, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Otti said Nigeria needed leaders who can inspire confidence in the people by doing what leadership required and that those in high positions should serve the people and not themselves.

Otti then cited Peter Obi’s example.

“As the chairman of Diamond Bank as at the time Obi was governor, I can confirm that he left $50 million each in Diamond Bank, Fidelity Bank and Access Bank.

“I can also confirm that he did not borrow money from any financial institution”, he said.

Earlier in his speech, chairman of the event, Gen. Yakubu Gowon, represented by former Minister of Health, Julius Adelusi Adeluyi, urged leaders to focus on the people and called on Nigerians to intensify prayers for God to have mercy on the nation.

In his remarks, Peter Obi thanked the organisers for choosing a topic, he described as critical to the nation’s prosperity.

Obi said Nigerian leaders must have conscience to understand that leadership is all about serving and not being served.

He said Nigeria had all it takes to become a great nation, if leaders reflect on the trajectory of how successful economies are made.

Kastina and Yobe are already high in external debt, when you compare Anambra domestic and external the state is lowest during Obi's tenure

Ezigbobest:

Assuming you're 100%correct, the question is, 'Did he leave money in those banks for his successors or not?'. And 'When he was putting the money in those banks, was he putting it in as his own personal money or as government money?' Also, 'Is there any existing law that states that the specific banks a governor can use for state funds, and also that he categorically cannot use a bank in which he may have some preference or interest, as long as that bank is legally qualified for the transaction?'

So even if Peter Obi put government money in banks where he had personal interests, what's wrong with that? Were the banks not commercially qualified and legal entities? Were those banks not licensed by CBN for such transactions? Would he still not have used another bank? What's the difference? Was he to keep the money in the government house? Was there any law breached? And how was interest accruing to him when the money was deposited in the name of Anambra state government and not Peter Obi as a person.

It's on record that he wasn't owing any government salaries of money to contractors.

So what exactly is the problem here?

You prefer those that openly steal and plunder and boast with it? Those that channel the resources of an entire state into their own coffers? Those that buy up government assets for a paltry sum? People who should be behind bars?

I wonder who has very little IQ here and who deserves to be pitied!

May God truly open the eyes of Nigerians to vote out APC and PDP and vote in credibility, competence, and progress for Nigeria.
He’s so a faraway from the truth. Fidelity met their requirement in 2005 while PO became a governor in 2007

Charles Soludo as CBN governor mandated banks to have 25 billion recapitalisation

In other for banks he has shares in not to collapse or liquidate Obi started pumping Anambra State Federal allocation and tax to these banks

Doctors went on strike even Anambra State Lecturer. Obi continued saving in his banks . Banks where making huge profits loaning people money at 22% interest rate

Now it's time for sensible Nigerian to decide

Tinubu that spent money on BRT, Lekki ibeju seaport , Lagos Bus even when PDP seized Lagos allocation

Truly Zombidiots are with very little IQ

.

Illiterate!
