Nigeria to save over N300bn as FedGovt readies to scrap or merge 400 out of the 541 MDAs next year , in line with the White Paper of Orosanye Report. The CBN,NNPC and many other agencies won’t be getting budgetary allocations in 2023.

Seun made two posts about the civil war one asked North to apologize for the pogrom and the other asked well-meaning individuals from the East to apologize for the events of 1966 so that we can chart a way forward but so far the torrents of abuse he's received come from mainly one region.
Seun is known for stirring up controversies once in an episodic manner on social media the post referenced underscore this point, it is either he is attacking religious beliefs of people or saying that Fulanis are hegemonists. Despite his level of intelligence he acts like a deranged individual sometimes.

I do not fancy APC's style of governance either in Lagos and at the federal level , but that being said some Nigerians can be so reckless; passing one-way and endangering the lives of other road users. and I think such people deserve this type of punishment if that is what it takes to have a sane society.

I know our politicians, military personnel and VVIP's break the law by following one-way thereby leaving behind bad examples, but we citizens too have our part to play in obeying the laws. A lot of people have been killed by vehicles (Both private and commercial ones) following one-way.

I remember a personal experience on the day of Chelsea vs Arsenal FA cup final 2020. I was at a friend's place and we went to watch the final at a bar not far from his house. While coming back and joyfully discussing Arsenal's victory, we attempted the cross the road opposite his house after looking well in all directions. A Keke came from nowhere following one-way and hit my friend from behind; it took only a second for me to hold and drag him hand while he was almost going to the floor to be stepped on by an on-coming vehicle. The unfortunate Keke didn't even stop but was looking for an exit route at the next junction. I sprinted up to his postion while he was navigating his way and descended on him with serious Vawulence. Unfortunately for him egbon adugbos wey know my guy and those we don buy drinks before dey junction. I'm damn sure that guy would never pass one-way in his life cos aside from few blows and slaps here and there; he also paid for cost of treating my guy.

These people passing one-way are menace and should be condemned too just like we condemn our wicked politicians. Because of those people I don't even cross normally, rather I look here and there and then still have it at the back of my mind to expect the unexpected from any angle.

The tweet is clear naa

Remember how Nigeria was hospitable under Abacha?

Remember how Buhari was committed to fixing Nigeria, especially the "Buhari-would-take-care-of-security" chants?

Ehen...Shettima said that is what Nigeria needs.

And of all the three, Tinubu has these two. No other person has it. grin

Even Tinubu wont say this rubbish, especially the Abacha part. They keep giving me reasons to believe Tinubu won't be in charge if he wins.

But then, I think Shettima knows the audience he is talking too. No be everybody this tweet dey for

Personally, I think the government should do more in regulating traffic and bad roads.

It's just like unemployment rising, and you are expecting people not to steal.

I spent almost 2 hours plus at Abule ado the other day, because of tankers and containers blocking the road. These Union guys were collecting their monies and people had to wait till they argued and argued before we left. Imagine if I had an emergency. You think I won't pass one way? From Suru Alaba to Mile 2 takes 40 minutes on a bad day...Something that is not up to 2km

Go to Festac, or even Odofa after Agbara. The roads there can pull off your bumper. So I should damage my car and spend money to fix it, when I can pass one way?

The government should give people reasons not to pass one way.

The auctioning part doesn't even make sense. I hope they don't start endangering lives of LASTMA officials with this

It will get to this eventually wink

A state where LASTMA officials invent ways to trick drivers into committing traffic offences is where people think it's okay to introduce these kinda draconian laws. Some of these persons that had their cars auctioned already served 3-year prison sentences for their "crimes" only to come out and have their cars auctioned for peanuts. Where is it head of, that a 3-year prison sentence is an appropriate punishment for traffic offences like driving one way or on okada?

Well, Shettima don talk say na Buhari/Abacha regen Tinubu be, so no surprise.

The government should do more concerning traffic management

Apongbon under bridge caught fire since April. Till now, they are still repairing an already existing bridge. Traffic there is very heavy till now.

The other day, I decided to avoid Eko bridge and I used Carter. I spent almost 3 hours just to climb Carter bridge to Idumota

I wonder how long it would take to build a new bridge from scratch.

i think the bridge is operational. i was in marina over the weekend

a new bridge will take anything from 6 months with a lot of inconvenience.

they are building a link bridge from second rainbow to orile and it has been on for two to three months now.

one way is not just about bad roads it is also about a refusal to wait through any traffic jam up.

Sterling falls to 37-year low against the dollar; European stocks slide

The British pound has dropped below $1.14 for the first time since 1985 as a combination of dollar strength and recession warnings weighed on the U.K.’s currency.

Sterling fell as low as $1.135 at 8:50 a.m. London before rising slightly to $1.1378, marking a fresh 37-year low. It followed the publication of figures showing a 1.6% fall in August retail sales, which analysts at ING said showed a “deteriorating consumption picture in the UK”.

I agree with you that government has to do more about road construction and traffic management. I also know how terrible that Lagos-Badagry expressway can be. I had a personal experience there ; my driver like myself was oblivious of how bad some portions of the road can be on the way to Agbara; we didn't follow other cars to join one-way instead we followed trucks who were maintaining the normal route. Long and short of it, the car got stuck in a bad portion of the road and a truck had to pull it out for us after we parted with cash.

That said, I think most of those who had their cars impounded are those who follow one-way on normal roads like the man whose car was auctioned for 400k. The guy passed one way on Cele-Express. You can tell it's not the issue of bad roads that led him to follow one-way but his impatience with the traffic on that route. That guy could've killed other road users while at it; that's my point. I feel the guy and his mum's pains but I think if auctioning his car would save lives then so be it. The human life is sacred and people should know there are consequences for their actions the moment they put the lives of others in danger by following one-way

Just this morning I saw a video of Gbenga Akoshile (LASG chief press secretary) stopping a man who was obviously driving against traffic on third mainland bridge with his corolla. Imagine following one-way on third mainland bridge shocked. If they Impound his car now we will say the government is wicked but then it's only wickedness also that will make one flow one-way on such route

Eko bridge is operational.

But getting to the end at Apongbon, traffic is diverted to the Ebute Ero exit. You can either make a U turn there back to Eko bridge, or use the Marina side to connect back.

I'm not defending one way users at all. But if we must copy UK and US, we should also put in place every means necessary to ensure that only a mad and cursed man can pass one way

On Monday, I saw a woman caught around Somolu for taking one way.

Personally, for me, I knew it was one way because of how cars were parked there. But there was no single sign to show it was a NO ENTRY.

The LASTMA guys were dragging the matter with the woman. But if there was a sign, she would be considered Mad and Insane to enter there.

The government should step up completely, then nobody would have any sympathy for offenders like these
