allysontaiwo: Pele. Firstly, 2 weeks is too early to be exhausted in this japa journey o. I stayed in Airbnb for 9 weeks before getting a place, just keep positive. It's not easy but what can you do? Widen your search circle like you were advised, your area is expensive with a high demand so you gotta go further out. Hit all the housing platforms available: Openrent, Zoopla, Rightmove, Spareroom, etc even the physical offices. 2 Likes |

Munamoqel: Omo This is an eye opening ooo. Walahi Oyinbos are the biggest scammers in the world. They scammed our grandfathers but realized that we the children are far wiser, so they have to develop a far modern scheme of duping us again. Just imagine issuing only Nigerians 36,000 visas. Waooooo Add other countries around the world and see how much these people are generating in visa fees, accommodation, flight, school etc from all round the world. Hmmmmmmmm They took our forefathers away in chains forcefully and it was costly for them. The cost of shipping the slaves, feeding them at sea for days before getting there, cost of accommodation of slaves and feeding before getting a buyer. But now all they have to do is sit and wait. Build a place, call it embassy where you screen the people that must cross. They device a better literally cheap/non cost but massive profit raking avenue to sustain their economy. It is a race the black man will never win 4 Likes |

A race the black man can (easily) overcome if they demand accountability from their govt especially local govt/council, state govt, task their state reps, fed rep and get their senator to work. While at it, they themselves must change attitude and be accountable citizens. emmaodet: Munamoqel: 13 Likes 1 Share |

emmaodet: Giving the cold that is about to hit us, I am sure most blacks would rather stay in their country. You don't see Emirates indigene stressing themselves to migrate anywhere The blackman choose to keep allowing bad leadership to strive. If you think of how Tinubu or Atiku have so enriched themselves, in a normal society both won't even be given the platform to run as president , but now you see sane Nigerians campaigning for either . .... We are really not ready ... 18 Likes 2 Shares |

LagosismyHome: At the bolded.....i don't think people will run or leave due to cold. They will adjust. It is better to adjust and earn dollars than to come back home and be idle. Many people will abuse you and call you lazy for running away from opportunities many are dying to have. Also, if people can be migrating enmass to Saudi with also an extreme hot weather just to make money, they will do fine in the cold ones too. About we choosing good leaders.........i want you to know that humans (the masses) are just numbers, in reality they don't have any power for the simple fact that humans are not DESIGNED to work together or have one voice. How is that possible.....i don't know. Yes, humans are very very very dangerous when they come together to speak in one voice but that is as far as it will go.... A MERRY WISH |

But the Nigerian economy benefits from the repatriation of forex from immigrants. The immigrants themselves live a higher quality of life than they would in their home land. So it's a win win situation. You don't expect these countries to promote immigration into their lands if it won't benefit them because countries are not charity organisations. 7 Likes |

semmyk: They can't. Humans are not designed that way. As humans, we have diverse interest reason why we can't all align together at the same tie. The only person that can drive humans in a particular direction is the GOVERNMENT because they have all the apparatus/tools to do that but individual humans lack that. Humans are not as powerful as we think. |

Munamoqel: Oyinbos are not criminals , if you found yourself in this situation then the only person to blame is yourself. The cost of studying in the UK is in the open, nothing hidden in small print, it was your decision choose the UK. I have issues with paid email though i can understand why it was introduced. Yes IHS is a rip off again this is not hidden. Will i come to the UK to study now? Never, unless i have scholarship 6 Likes |

You are 100% wrong, they did not lie to you about anything, like i said before the cost of studying in the UK is open to everyone to read and make personal decisions. You don't have to send paid email and it will not affect the outcome of your visa application. This got zero to do with criminality or 419, i mean ZERO 9 Likes |

justwise: After going through student thread I cannot blame the UK for paid mail at all.... the guideline is 15 working day turn around. Just read some of the comments. Even after 2 days some people are doing paid email and chasing left and right . . .. No realistic expectation that they should give the visa officer time to process application or do checks . No consideration that they are not the only applicants ooo. That the visa officer is working on others so there should give some allowance. From the comments you get the sense of once they apply I want answer now now now now... they should put paid email, even double the amount self ...lol .. because even with it, I smh at the chasing so its not even deterring people 8 Likes |

LagosismyHome: You know why? Because the UK (unlike Belgium and others) do not insist on ‘Blocked Accounts’ to show evidence of funds. The folks who ignite paid emails after 2 days wants the visa to come out quick quick so that they can return the borrowed money to the owners. 2 Likes |

semmyk: It's all about national interests. They'll never be comfortable with our country having an enlightened leader in power, so they'll always support incompetent leaders that would promote their interests, which in the case of Nigeria-UK relations, is to ensure a steady flow of our top talent and tuition funds from Nigeria to the UK. As long as Nigeria's bad governance is forcing this unhealthy brain drain towards their country, they are very okay with that arrangement. They've realized that they cannot rely solely on tuition generated by their home students or on taxes contributed by their own working citizens, so they devise all these talent and skills-based immigration policies targeted at bringing in international students and skilled workers. The ineptitude of our leaders has always been our greatest undoing, I swear! Mugabe tried to fight that imperialism and Zimbabwe has been suffering the consequences till date, through economic sanctions aimed at crippling that country. Do you think the UK would survive 3 years if a global sanction was placed on it, that prohibited banks of other countries from sending funds to them? Colonialism still exists today, repackaged in another form.
