We have various threads on Canada migration here on nairaland but I could not find any that relates to migrating to Canada via a closed work permit.
Closed work permits are usually for work permits tied to a particular company, i.e you are getting the work permit only for that role in the specified company.
I am currently in the last stage of the process which is awaiting work permit application decision from IRCC.

For me, LMIA was approved February. I applied for closed work permit March 29 2022.
Do we have people going through this process? Please share your timelines

Did you evaluate your credentials with WES? I had an interview and the employer said LMIA has not been approved yet. But am still hopeful.

Please when n LMIA is issued and u are already in the express entry pool do I have to start a new work permit application or do I just go straight to the express entry pool to indicate my LMIA. Thank you

@Rockford, when you were applying for your dependent wife and children, did you have to show proof of funds for them? I'm thinking that the offer letter of the main applicant showing what he would be receiving as salary in Canada should suffice? What do you think? Please i would appreciate your quick response. It depends on the immigration program. You can be in the pool and apply for work permit. I believe LMIA is just an approval from Canada for your employer to hire you.

Thanks rockford for this. I have been looking for a topic like this on nairaland, nothing so far. I am in the same dilemma right now. Did biometrics with my family since June 30. Up till now, no response. Used company immigration lawyers too. It is demoralizing with this no tracking issue. I have heard some people say it took up to a year also. I dont know where to place my hope on as I am currently frustrated in my current company here in naija.

Good evening all. I'm glad I came across this thread. Thanks Rockford.
My process is ongoing. I started with an agent March. Aug 8th I went for medicals with my family. Upfront as instructed by the agent.
I'm still waiting for medical result approval by IRCC. I learnt it can up to 2 or 3months.
I will update everyone here as the process goes.

I paid 164k for family of 4. Family of 3 will be less

Wahala. Their process is just messed up. You need to see the negative reviews online. For the fact that they make u stuck and not making any decision with your life is somehow

Not yet. Agent said it normally takes up to 10-18 weeks for approval. I'm patiently waiting for this slow and sure route.
