Despite all the hardship brought by apc and dollar at the rate of 710/$, so customs still have the mind to auction peoples sweat instead of improving businesses

Corruption is the bane of this country. This nepotism auctioning is enough for a sane government to remove this incapable Ali, the custom boss. We all saw what Lagos did with forfeited vehicles last week and the amount generated from each.

Even the lagos auctions was illegal. I have never seen anywhere a trafic offenders vehicle will be auctioned. I know they are fined. Moreso before u walk around lagos for 10mins u will see a convoy of either the army, police or bigger boys going on one way trafic. How many of them have been seized. Make them stop to deceive us. Useless APC government.

Sixfiguresmart:
The custom today is run by Atiku and his boys. Atiku is the biggest importer of generators. He owns that business. He was the former boss of customs. All these in operation today are his boys. These people hold our nation to a standstill. Everyone has put in loyalists in place to serve their personal interests. Mind you, these boys in charge of all these ministries have family relations with either the president, or an Emir or sultan. They are all locked in by blood or by marriage.

Tinubu is in charge of all the statistics in maritime. Anytime you pay any tax, you are paying Tinubu. These men run this country like my bowel runs me.

Davido was telling you all what he spent 100m naira just to clear his Rolls Royce. No one paid attention to that. You all were looking Davido. it will get to your turn. Why on earth would a human spend such amount just to clear his car? There should have been a probe right away. But imagine 100m Naira into the pocket of these

There should be an established policy that certain standards of cars cannot come through and there should be an alternative to that.

Is it not time that the government stepped in to see how to subsidize the cost of vehicles for Nigerian citizens with Innoson? A government that does not manufacture car is legislating the type of car that you should buy when it does not provide good roads and employment for you. That is bullying. And, you are the one paying this government.

It's going to be worst if someone like Atiku or Tinubu becomes president. I just pray PETER OBI can make it but the odds r very high at this time. Maybe after we suffer another 8 years then we will learn.

Not saying Lagis auctioning is legal. What baffles is the amount the customs gave the vehicles as giveaways.

Atiku Abubakar institutionalised corruption in custom services. The money Atiku made from corruption in Customs is able to turn Nigeria to a Dubai city standard.

FuckSilly:
How can you sell a whole vehicle someone bought for up to a million Naira for as low as ₦5,000?
THIS IS EVIL AND WICKEDNESS OF THE HIGHEST ORDER.
This country is completely doomed and irredeemable.

Corruption can never stop!
There can never be peace or progress no matter who wins the next election, KNOW THIS AND NO PEACE. Whoever wins will still be frustrated by the other tribe(s) and/or will join-in to continue the evil, corruption and mismanagement.
THE BEST SOLUTION IS WE GO OUR SEPARATE WAYS.

How can one Emeka or Godwin or Babatunde hustle to buy a car from abroad with about a million naira and one retarɗed Bastard fool ani fool called Hamed or Musa impound it and sell it to himself for as low as 5k?
IT WILL NEVER BE WELL WITH ONE-NIGERIA.

Somehow I dont beleive in separation. Imagine we separate who do u think will run lagos or south south? The same old fools still running it till date and at their old age shouting EMILOKAN. We just need a total change of mind set and mentality.

This is not new.

While growing up, the wives and relatives of these Customs officers used to own chains of stores selling bags of rice, clothing materials, canned foods, frozen foods & many other items allegedly seized from importers & smugglers a.k.a Fàyàwó's.

Imaging Appointing a green horn as cg. An ex soldier, someone that needed financial rehabilitation.
Just imagine what is going on in our ports. The question one will ask are we the only ones that operate ports? Do we have 2 heads or are we cursed as a people? How come other countries operate efficiently and successfully, but when it comes to Nigeria, problem!
Now they seize peoples property, you then "dash" them to croonies. shocked
Is there any part of this apc gov that is not up to the elbow in corruption? Ofcouse seeing that the heardsman at the top is ignorant of happenings around him.

Abokis are the most corrupt people in Nigeria.
See them allocating bids to themselves alone.
They impound goods imported by southerners and allocate it to themselves.

I am sure you did not read the report but just typed wink

I do not see corruption here . The issues are that they could have been sold hire and ncs should use the the auctioneers instead of their portal.

This is the first time a govt agency will be confidently challenging the media to go fish out the facts and go ahead and use it to embarrass them so they can answer for it.

There is an auction and the law never insisted that they must use autioneers who will add to the cost. If you are interested, just go to their website and bid. That ncs henchman is a no nonsense incorruptible man so I understand why he would like less engagement of his officers with auctioneers to avoid more problems.

I am not saying there may be no issues according to the last paragraph where some folks bring in cars but do not have funds to clear it. I honestly do not see the incentive buying those junks, I will rather buy car from a dealer than take these nonsense scraps that have been flooded and wrecked before shipping them and abandoned in ncs warehouses for long.

You did not read the report or understand it se.

So sorry no vex, which law or part of the law mandates ncs to use auctioneers or which law compels to keep your cars for you at the port till eternity if you have issues with your bank and/or broke enough not to have funds to clear your imports/cars?

Just suggest a way out or let it slide if it is too complex for you to understand wink

The under-valuation is where real corruption was before but few weeks ago the cbn and ncs agreed on the e-evaluation and e-invoicing policy which uses the international standard for valuing any import of export so you can pay the right fee or get the right amount of forex. It is a new policy that is novel but takes away most of the shenanigans and days of underinvoicing is literally over.

So try and understand and if you do not, just ask politely or read up on it. There are still upright and patriotic Nigerians but they need the support and cooperation of all Nigerians. Just to type and go is the easy part, our patriots killed daily in duty just to enforce these laws are better than you who just types and go.
