Based on their response, that's what they indicated. However, @antzlaive might be able to shed more light on the type of visa he applied for to clarify this.

AskGod07:

They handle Visitors/Holiday Visa also.
Mine was a Holiday Visa. See the cropped image below. I hope this settles it.

Thank you. That means it is just the travel history to SA that counts.

The DHA e visa website is still actively working...Just that the criteria for issuance of visa is what we don't know..For instance Travel history to other countries or Frequent Traveller to SA

I applied for my first e visa on the 23rd of March and visa was issued on the 18th of May...Spent 3 weeks...Then I applied for the second time on the 18th of August and it was issued on the 16th of September less than a month..

The basis of the issuance of visa is what we don't know but all I can say is that the DHA website is still active.

Hello Guys, I got a text message from The SA Embassy to resubmit another application form (DHA 1738 form)
at VFS Abuja.
I had submitted my application for the Research Visitor Visa in March, 2022 for my postdoctoral fellowship.
Please I need your kind answers to the questions below:

1. Must I book an appointment with VFS on the website like I did during the original submission. Or do I just walk
in and make the submission.
2. The form specifically asked that I submit the form, do I also need to submit all the documents I submitted during
the original submission.
3. Do I need to make another payment for the Visa fee?

Please be informed that I have contacted VFS and they had no reasonable response to the queries. The number that
also texted from the Embassy instructed that I must not call or text back.
Thanks as I look forward to your insights.

This is just unpalatable to hearing. Can you just imagine that? Giving someone incomplete information to confuse that fellow. I will suggest you go there to submit the form you are requested to submit and to be on the safer side, go with other documents as well should incase they ask for it.

Try Stanbic IBTC or Standard Chartered Banks. I know those 2 sell Rands (maybe cos of their South African affiliations). Another option is to buy your PTA in USD and convert to Rands in South Africa. 3rd option is peer to peer.

Rgds.
Hi,
Can you recommend someone w/ a South African bank and can make payments on my behalf?
I’ll pay him in Naira and he pays the acct no. in rand
Please let me know

Matter Arising!

https://www.sabcnews.com/sabcnews/foreign-national-religious-workers-no-longer-eligible-for-work-permits-or-permanent-residency/

Home Affairs Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi’s announcement on work permits and permanent resident status for foreign nationals who are religious workers has been met with criticism from some religious quarters.
Freedom of Religion South Africa says a blanket ban on foreign nationals would arguably be unconstitutional.
Motsoaledi announced before parliament’s portfolio committee that foreign national religious workers will no longer be eligible for work permits or permanent residency in the country.

An announcement that has been received with mixed emotions. But to many, accountability is key.

“It’s a matter of discussions as to how best we can protect the system and also make sure that religion is not used as a tool for criminal activities or for robbing people of their hard earned cash.”

“This is caused by charlatans and some false prophets who come to SA masquerading as men of God, took advantage of people in the name of religion and the Church. Yes definitely they need to get some part of the blame but it’s really unfortunate that the Home Affairs took that decision”, says Solomon Izang Ashoms of Movement Against Abuse in Churches

Some organisations have cautioned the department against painting all foreign national as religious workers with the same brush, but others say the decision won’t also harm missionary work in the country.

The exponential growth of a number of churches in the country over the years has came with challenges to an extent that the Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Communities had to intervene.

Hello pls advise me. I applied for evisa on 15th August to attend a 3days conference to start this weekend and I had to book my return flight because it was one of the criteria on the form. Up until today Friday have not received the visa the status says "Ready Batch" can I still proceed on the trip to SA like that and maybe get visa on arrival at the airport or make an appeal there. The organisers of the conference has sent mail to the Consular and all no response
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by antzlaive(m): 8:23am On Sep 23, 2022
They ought to send mail/contact home affairs not the consular.
Airline won't even carry you without a visa. So no chance of even getting there.

Thanks for your response. Can I request them to send mail to HACC@dha.gov.za or do u have any other email address of home affairs you can share.
And as a back up can I open the Ethiopian air ticket or how do I go about it since tomorrow is the scheduled departure

You may send an email to that e-address but it's very unlikely to get response within 72 hrs (if you get response at all).
I think you took a really bold step booking that flight ticket Sir. An unpaid booking would have suffice there.
Let's hope they miraculously respond before your time of flight else, please don't leave your house to avoid any embarrassments at the airport please.
