Hopefully someday... but working class don't delay, except in some cases where some want to book cheap price before 5. Olosho pays better anyway. The one that irritates me the most are the ones that will put low price while trying to take their bath. I don't even bother about those set of people, when they are ready, I know they will put reasonable price.

Are you sure it's not wrong way of placing the belt that's spoiling the adjuster?
Obinoral can throw more light on this subject.

Toyota Engine which falls into the most durable of all the engine they use will be 2GR, and 2GR engine comes with Toyota Brands like Camry, Sienna Highlander etc. Most 2GR engines comes with oil cooler hose, but at point those hose couldn’t withstand the pressure and gets damaged. Toyota decided to recall brands with the 2GR engine to replace them with metalic pipe.

1st & 2nd picture: That is the hose that comes with 2GR engine 3rd & 4th picture is the recommended specification

This sigular error has led most motorist into damaging thier engine, because the hose can get damaged anytime and mostly while driving and you will never be aware until the engine cracks and knock. I mostly advise car owner using the hose type or who are not aware to always pay attention to the hose and check frequently.

Do you think the adjuster is in your engine for fancy? shocked Do you know how important that adjuster is to the function of your power steering pump, compressor and alternator? shocked

You know that belt is made of rubber right? overtime that your serpentine belt will get weaker and weaker due to depreciation and start to stretch and become loose? Heck even your engine temperature makes it change its length by a few inches when it gets very hot and as the engine cools down it gets compressed back to its usual state/length.

your adjuster was there to always keep the tolerances between the belt, rollers, power steering, compressor and alternator THIGHT so as not to cause slippage or outright damage to the belt and it’s associated components when your engine is in use. The noise you were hearing was just your belt rubbing against the rollers due to a failing adjuster oh.

Now that you have deleted your adjuster, your belt will get very loose (while the engine is hot) and it will be slipping , it will also make your belt depreciate faster and cut sooner than later shocked

Deleting your adjuster. . .

Means your alternator won’t be giving out the normal voltage required to run your vehicular equipment and at the same time recharge your battery =========> instead of your battery to last 2 years it will now last only 1 year because even an output difference of just 1 single volt from your alternator can damage your battery

It also means your power steering pump will be lacking proper power after you have been on the road for several hours without a break, your steering rack will be demanding fluid which your pump will be struggling to deliver and this will make your rack starved of lubrication =========> rapid wear and tear in your power steering rack and leaking seals in the pump & rack due to unusual fluid pressures

Then let’s not forget about your air conditioning compressor, the belt won’t be gripping the bearing again when it’s deprecated or stretched and the slippage will cause excessive pressures in your power steering lines and lack of lubrication while in use extensively. =========> ruptured lines, drier starved of Freon, weakened seals and even cause leakages and develop the dreaded Black Death syndrome

Of course all these will happen overtime and the damages will creep up on you when you least expect, it might be a month or a year from now depending on how lucky you are but it will happen SOONER than LATER , those components related to the adjuster work with bearings and they were engineered to ‘spin’ at a specific rpm for their functions to be safe and effective.

Why do you think it’s folly to put a bigger or smaller compressor/ power steering pump or even alternator on your vehicle that is different from what was specified from the factory? Your engine spins at a particular rpm and these components were designed to spin in relation to your engine that’s why the adjuster is there

The engineers who produce these things and put in your vehicle are usually ASE certified (American Society of Engineers)

Oga Kamoru that told you to remove your adjuster is only ASE certified (Agboju Society of Enginias) undecided

Choose your poison wisely
I thought he meant he replaced the adjuster not removed permanently...

Buy mosul (muscle )
Buy muscle no buy Corolla at all.
1. Cost of maintaining muscle is the same with Corolla unless you drive like Felicity001

2. Muscle engine rugged… it can swim in ocean and still start next day .

I bought my low mileage Camry (muscle) in USA, shipped it to Nigeria, cleared it and register it. I used the car for Ehailing at some point, I sold the same car 10yrs after and made a profit of 50k. I had extra 50k.
The total money + shipping +clearing + 10yrs ago = Total money I sold it and extra 50k on it.

Toyota muscle is more prestigious than Corolla, if lastma or tout see you in Corolla they will quickly conclude u are doing Uber,
I was in an estate with two Corollas and 1 Benz jeep all of a sudden d two corrollas zoomed off and I saw some guys with iron and tyres pursuing them. They passed by me and the Benz guy telling us “we told Uber drivers not to pack here again” after they left I jejely jappa too but dey didn’t bother me cos it’s not Corolla.

If you comot with ur bae or wife gateman won’t allow u pack in certain areas you will be hearing
“ Uber no dey pack there ooh, u go begin shout I no be Uber upandan

Just buy you Mosul n have peace of mind

Plus musul get more space and his riders will like it more.
It's less prone to vandalization and e dey run pass coro if you dey like racing like me.
Above all if you want to resell you'll earn more on musul, let just check it very well so he won't end up buying lemon at the end of the day.
Nigerians hardly sell thier cars if it is not giving them issues, except relatively few.

Okay oh, unless he removed and replaced it then my rant was misplaced. I just had to talk because we I have heard many things on this thread.

Like how one particular member here knowingly removed his vehicles sway bar linkages and has been driving without it since then wink

I will just be keeping him in my prayers against the day he tries to dodge a small pothole at 100kmph grin

You will be surprised how much those vehicles were sold in 2012. Anyone with a decent income at the time can easily buy them. Most people with above average salaries were even buying brand new cars at the time. Tokunbo na for people like Bazoo wey no too get money. Not now that only politicians buy brand new cars.

People on 150-200k salary in 2022 now buy cars of 2m. That was the same salary some people collected in 2012. Why do you think buying a car valued at around 2m will be such a big deal at the time?

Pearl Pearl, na so another kasala go start

But sincere analysis will tell someone working with a multiple national company should be able to afford such especially when it comes with many perks.

We are talking of 2012 when Uber/bolt have not dreamt of Nigeria. Likewise there are a lot of people who have been to this thread to ask if they can make use of their big cars.
Can you answer what must have happened to to them by thinking of using a big car since that is the vehicle available at their disposal.
BUBU as should know must have happened to them.
There are lots of people who have driven that never thought BUBU could happen to them.

Just so you know that not all see it as a better investment but as a means to get by.
