Have you heard of the esim? I honestly wonder what would become of our security if it gets to a point where we cannot change mobile numbers like we normally do.

you just throw away the phone and buy another one.... which will be the perfect solution for these tech companies who want us to buy a new phone every 18months

that means we would spend a lot more money. And not everybody can dispense that much every 18 months for a mobile device.

This isn't informed bro. eSim may look to many like it will make life complicated, but it's the other way round

Setting up an eSim on your phone takes only about 15 minutes. Here are its benefits:

1. It IMPROVES security. No one can just steal your phone and pop out your SIM card when the SIM is programmed on the phone. With this, you have network during the most crucial timeframe after you can't find your phone (God forbid).

2. You can have multiple SIM cards on your phone, and you can easily switch to them without having to pop out your SIM.

3. There will be more room in devices, which will encourage more hardware upgrades.

The only disadvantages of eSims are when you're running out of battery and you have a spare phone that isn't eSim compatible, you may not have the best experience.

Also, if your phone suddenly stopped working, there might be an issue getting your contacts. But this can be corrected through eSim software upgrades (Google already and Apple back contacts up)

Enough space to take some hardware features. Think about the new gyroscope sensor that helps detect auto crash. This is just one of the few things that could replace the space taken by the SIM port.

Also, not having a SIM card port will help increase how resistant a phone is to water and dust. It may seem too much for the world to accept right now, but it's not a wrong thing to do.

Remember when SIM cards and memory cards came from the regular size down to the nano? Everyone ranted about the the decrease in size, but it helped make phones slimmer.

Google pixel 3a XL that was released in 2019 already had eSim feature. So, it's nothing new in smart phone features.

Let's not be too quick to start this whole "who did it first" battle. 2018 iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max also had eSim feature. That's not what I'm talking about.

I'm saying that Samsung might ditch physical SIM altogether, just like Apple did, in their S23 lineup.
