The fact the you might have had a bad experience in the line of ehailing business does not give you the right to discourage other please. Hard working people are still making good money daily, collecting and finishing HP and even serious drivers saving up to get their own cars so please if you were not lucky or smart enough abeg na your own don't just jump in to discourage someone like that without even sharing the experience you had. ✌

Maybe he did it for few weeks and he couldn't handle it.
Life is challenging, starting new things, business or learning new skills is challenging, even the so called I.T that's now the new oil is very challenging but we just have to motivate ourselves. I watched a video of a female Danfo driver that said she makes 300k monthly, do you think it was that easy when she started Nigeria is built to frustrate everything but if you don't find a way to keep paddling your canoe you will be submerged.

It's like saying our parents bought brand new cars for N2000 N3000 in the '80s. u think it was easy to get N2,000 that time? The middle class monthly salary was between N50 and N100 that time. So same thing goes now.
Like Tojah has said it's has always been difficult for an average man in every generation. But this our generation, Even rich man they collect wotowoto.

What BUBU can't do doesn't exist.
He failed the first time, failed the second time, now those that brought him the second time want to continue from where he stops.

Last last, everybody go chop out of the breakfast.

Some were implying that Bazoo must have lied.

My argument is that, there is nothing special with an everyday salary earner buying a 2007 camry in 2012. Back then a lot of people were even buying brand new cars.

People are equating it with buying a 2017 car in 2022 but it's not the same.
You are very correct. It is not the same. Life was good. Things were affordable back then. Naira had value, not now wey 1 dollar is almost 800 naira.

Everytime I look at this thread below, I weep for Nigeria.

https://www.nairaland.com/329224/2008-white-toyota-camry-unbelievable

This is a 2008 Camry being sold in 2009, one year after it was produced for 3.7m. It had just 7k miles. That's more or less brand new.

Today, an equivalent 2021 Tokunbo Toyota Camry is 23 million naira. Lord have mercy.

The annoying part is that companies are still paying the same 100-200k salary to most people. Salary hardly ever increases. Even when it does, inflation is there to wipe off the "increase"

Baz001

Are you saying as at 2012, you were already using a Toyota Muscle of 2008-2011?

10yrs ago from now is 2012. Let us know because as Deedee4 take send our business mogul to a land of no return. I wouldn't want any Lamba here if not na to pay your friends for a 6 page exposé of you straight up.

Impossible is nothing.

No cap baba
Question is how much was Naira to dollars in 2012?
How much was Tokunbo Camry in 2012 ?
Bought it less than 57,000 miles.
I sold it at 156,000miles after 10yrs and car still better pass all d lemon limca Dru23 kweku is shipping to Nigeria.
Who will buy tokunbo car of 150,000 miles in 2012
APC change has changed our mindset to 10yrs back

I was earning dollars as a Nigerian staff abroad all my colleagues (all) bought brand new cars no cap.

Let me not talk too much, na APC change + fake dashboard posters make me dey drive Uber/bolt upandan Lagos.

It’s one of d reasons I keep shouting don’t resign to drive Uber, cause of d opportunities job experience can give u home & abroad,
I don’t know how many years you wan move Lagos to buy Tokunbo car and still feed your family comfortably.

Imagine 1 dollar to 700naira now?
How much u wan buy 2018/19 car in 2021 from Nigeria

You will be surprised how much those vehicles were sold in 2012. Anyone with a decent income at the time can easily buy them. Most people with above average salaries were even buying brand new cars at the time. Tokunbo na for people like Bazoo wey no too get money. Not now that only politicians buy brand new cars.

See these threads for instance.

In 2012, 2.450 is like our 4.550 today.

It wasn't an easy feat. Not taking anything away from Baz001 statement but there was never a time Nigeria was great. Every hardship comes with their respective decade.

Bro let’s pray that the government in power favors us.
Jonathan / Dezani (petroleum minister) was very favorable to me.
I had more dollars than naira
Travelled out on business class every 5weeks on official projects.
Money was flowing like water.

As we speak some people don’t want bubu administration to end cos money is flowing in their direction right now.

Legit not fraud.

And you think house in Lekki will be on a fixed price abi? Why do you think we have too many structures fallin lately? 2014, 2 bedroom around Ojodu Berger was 280/300k, while 3 bedroom goes for like 400k. Today mini flat is 600/700k. That is Ojodu... I think everything work in line with check and balance. Maybe with a slight shift tho, because Naira is absolutely useless right now

Saw someone that bought cow 800k. Ordinary cow that 200k will give u bull with great hatch back. I've stopped thinking. I remember growing up, sweet was sold for kobo with good quality of production, but everything kept increasing as man is growing. We survived it
thus far, we shall keep surviving till the direct yell cut.

First thing to do is find a professional technician... don't listen to kazeems bullcraps... they should diagnose first it's only in that country they'll be using ideas of 1990 bro scan first before anything.

I don't know much about mech but I used to have obd2 scanner and it's really helped me with civic 07... I woke up to start hustling I reverse out from the compound naso the car no enter gear.

I put a call through mechanic said gear.. I wasn't satisfy I scan and check youtube videos it was gear sensor which I bought in owode for 5k I used 10spanner lose it myself and till I sold the car I never had such issues again.

So pls find better technician who uses correct computer diagnose

Na so, I like your brake down. No business is easy expecially in this Lagos, many a time that I have picked 2 female colleague from same company at close of work and you must here them complain about their company always, so many of 8to5s sef just dey do am for the money ni yet they don't have the freedom that you enjoy to work at your own pace with driving in Lagos. Nobody will earn good money in a business you don't have strong interest at the back of your mind to keep you going when you face challenges in that line of business.

You will be very lucky to escape buying a new transmission.

What I just want to add is, if and when it is confirmed the transmission is faulty, do not listen to anyone who tells you to repair it. Just replace it and be done with it.

It will cost you money but you'll have rest of mind.
