Hypertonic (super Tight) Pelvic Floor Relaxation by braveheart77: 7:38pm On Feb 23, 2020
Hi all,

I have had a supertight pelvic floor for over a year now which is causing me erectile issues (ED, PE). I have tried several therapy including reverse kegels, trigger point massages, pelvic floor stretches like yoga, hindi squats, belly breathing without much success.

Has anyone suffered from this and recovered? Or can you recommend a very good pelvic floor therapist that can treat this condition.

Thank you

Hello good evening.

Decided to comb Nairaland to see if I'll encounter someone who's dealt with this but I think this is what I'm currently suffering from.

I have constant urge to pee and poo. Sometimes, I have lots of pressure at the upper base of my penis and when I have an erection, it's not pleasurable at all as it feels like I have to pee all the time. Even after I pee, there's still a lot of pressure there.

All I've seen so far seems to point towards a tense pelvic floor and it seems like you've solved this issue. How did you go about it?

Hi bro, yes I had those symptoms and it was mainly caused by poor posture (particularly that led to pelvic tilt).

I had posterior pelvic tilt due to years of slouching and overtime the pressure became too much for the pelvic floor and started to cause tightness. Some people have anterior pelvic tilt instead (both are bad).

How is your breathing? This should give a clue as to the state if your pelvis. PPT literally affected my breathing and breathing has a direct correlation with the relaxation and contraction of the pelvic floor.

In summary, i improved due to postural correction exercises that made me stop slouching and helped maintain a neutral spine/pelvis.

All of the symptoms above are classified as non bacterial prostatitis/CPPS when the cause is not bacterial. Some people have all of those symptoms caused by an infection as well so you may need to get checked to rule that out.

Check sub reddits like CPPS, hard flaccid, pelvic floor.

All the best

My breathing is actually very fine. I have never had a oroblem with it since this started.

Thinking back to the months before this started, I remember I was on a trip and tried to hold my urine till I got to my destination. When the bus finally came to a stop, I was just unable to relax myself to urinate. I remember being a bit scared but I was finally able to. I didn't even make this connection until last week.

Six months after the urination incident, I started suffering from constipation that I now believe to be "outlet constipation". No amount of laxative would give me any form of relief at and there was always constant tension back there. It was only when the urge to frequently urinate which started this month that I begun to suspect pelvic floor.

Met a doctor last week and I was prescribed antibiotics which has given me side effects so far but the condition still remains.. no single relief at all.

I looked at r/prostatitis and I saw that even the docs in the US still prescribe antibiotics as well at first. Pelvic floor showed me something about biofeedback therapy. Was that actually what you did? How long did it take for you to no longer have the sensation again?

I intend to go back to the doctor again this week cos I don tire for the whole antibiotics nonsense. I don't have the hard flaccid syndrome and I believe I might have a slight anterior tilt

Sorry for my long write-up. Na the condition cause am.

Hi,

I suspect your muscles are tensed even if the cause is not postural. Anxiety and stress is also a number 1 cause, can you guage how you are faring in these areas?

Antibiotics will only work if the cause is an infection (urologists always think it’s caused by an infection but this is wrong); do a urine and semen mcs to rule out infections.

Like i said, once i started to correct my posture i got relieve from those sensations and constipation. If you suspect you have APT, you’ll need to correct that before any progress can be made.

This is the first time I'm actually thinking about how stress and anxiety could have caused this issue.

Around the time the condition started, I had a lot of projects to attend to with crazy deadlines at hand. In fact the anxiety can be traced back to about a year prior to when the condition started but it only became worse in weeks leading up to it.

Even though the cause of my anxiety at the time is now gone, this condition is now a new fuel for it. I'm constantly thinking about it 80% of the time. Can you recommend the stretches you did? A link or something would be very fine.

I'm even getting tempted to use a muscle relaxant drug like valium or something at this point. I heard magnesium glycinate is a nice supplement for this, did you try that or the drug?

I really appreciate the response..
