be ready to wait 2 months plus before capturing. No one can help you fast track anything there.

After capturing passport will be out in less than 10 days.

I'll advice you to go for A fresh passport. If your old passport didn't carry your husband's surname, you'll be told to visit Abuja which will cost you alot of money. Apply for a fresh passport to save yourself the stress pls.

Correction Due to Marriage:

Married
Application Letter.
Copy of Marriage Certificate or Declaration of Marriage.
Sworn Affidavit from a Magistrate or High Court of Change of Name deposed to by Applicant.
Copy of Newspaper Publication of Change of Name (21 days after publication).
Statutory evidence of change of name (if resident outside Nigeria in lieu of iii and iv).
Passport Booklet and Copy of Data Page of Passport.
Acknowledgement Slip & Evidence of Payment.


Please ignore that guy that says you should get a fresh passport. It can be done in any NIS locations.

I got the old passport via the "express" method because I urgently needed the document to unblock an account and I was "threatened" at the office that it could take six months if I wanted to follow the official/DIY process. Will it be possible to request for renewal via the DIY way this time despite using the express method when I first applied?

2. Must a renewal be done at the same office where the passport was originally obtained?

3. How much does renewal cost now, both official and express?

Please do not get a fresh passport like the other person advised. Once you have had an E- passport (not the old type) they will be able to tell that you have had a passport previously.. you will just complicate things for yourself.
Just present your marriage certificate, an affidavit stating you are now married, your surname has changed and you are the same person stated on your NIN..take a newspaper clipping of change of name along with you (attach it to your documents), your husband can also swear an affidavit stating you are married to him and now bear his name (attach that to your documents too)

Sharrap your scamming mouth. Tell whoever you were marketing the gen for to loan you the 30k. Or ask your siblings, parents, other relatives, friends, neighbors or classmates. Anyone that actually knows you.

What do you mean at the bolded ? Are you talking of the old passport before the introduction of biometric for e-passport or e-passport before this e-passport enhancement came in 2019 ?

3. DIY 26K, through an officer price may differ depending on the agent but on the average I had 45k

Hi Emoreni,
After submitting your application online, you will have to go to the immigration office with the required documents to open a file before your capturing date, immigration office in some states may not require you to open a file before your capturing date but if your capturing center is benin you will need to open a file before your capturing date so you will be able to capture.
Also when going go with enough cash in hand,I think for mine I paid #1500 for photocopies and for my file at the immigration office.
P.s I did DIY
