gallivant:I wonder where this dude gets the energy to spew all these gibberish; when 90% of them are lazy and dumb as hell. They are extremely backward in the social sphere, and with their paltry economy; Kenyans(40%, ) Indians & whites(30%) and other nationalities (20%) carry their burden. They are only left with 10% [60% out of it being wasafi/diamond and nature(diamond, copper, animals)]. Productive population Zero( save the few artists. ) Professional beggars; top of the ladder. Dude is busy trying to flex muscles with their king. ( with zero minerals, terror boarder, huge dry land and whatnot) He should be guided 1 Like |

23 out of the 60 African startups selected for the 2022 Google Black Founders Fund for Africa are Nigerian startups. Although Nigerian startups dominated the list as they did in 2021, it's less than the 26 startups that were selected (out of 50 African startups) last year. https://www.benjamindada.com/google-black-founders-fund-africa-2022/ 1 Like |

GeneralDae:Yoh. We're in 2022 _ living in a dynamic world. You can lead today, tomorrow you're trailing. Kenya and south Africa are all in booming seasons. Competition is stiff at the top level. |

GeneralDae:You can also check the startup ecosystem report for 2022 - it's different yes but close to the topic. It's South Africa, Kenya then Nigeria in that order. |

Shma2022:Data on the first quarter of 2022 shows that majority of the funding has gone to four countries. Nigeria leads the way with $600 million, followed by Kenya with $482 million, South Africa with $228 million, and Egypt with $202 million. |

Shma2022:In terms of number of startups in 2022, Nigeria is the largest. In terms of funding this year, Nigeria dominates. I posted the articles a few weeks ago. |

GeneralDae:Yes. However I think we Nigerians need to move away from the classic "fintech" startup. I saw one news last week of how kuda bank lost over 6 billion naira. Hopefully this is a wake up call to aspiring founders to move away from the fintech space and start something else like games, productivity software wtc |

Fourpockets:Yeah, we Nigerians love money too much and we seem to enjoy anything that has to do with managing money as well as the arts and entertainment. For example, we somehow seem to do better relatively (with so much interest) in Banking, Fintechs, Cryptos, and even Ponzi Schemes. |

Yes a good start - what needs to happen next - is to complete Trans-Africa highways. Cairo to Capetown is mostly sorted. Many others remain. GeneralDae: 3 Likes |

rvp20182: I don't understand, why would anyone want to travel that long distance, it doesn't make sense logically cos of security and it's even expensive. |

Fourpockets:Does it make sense to travel from Lagos to Accra or from Accra to Abidjan? If it does, then it make sense for the continent to be interconnected 1 Like |

The whole idea of building proper highways is to deal with insecurity and expense - otherwise if I want to ship my tea from Kericho to Abuja - I would have to now track or rail it 800kms to Mombasa...have it go round Africa to Lagos port...then all the way on road to Abuja. That is a month at best. But now if there was a road...I would just drive for 5,000kms...that is 5 days of driving...if I drive 1000kms every day...on good proper expressway...this should be vision of Africa...major highways and rail lines. In developed world - trucks are driven from london to germany...from Toronto to Los Angeles...4,000kms in 2-3 days - one should one day drive from Abuja to Nairobi in 2-3 days.. Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by Fourpockets: 4:05pm On Sep 26, 2022 |
rvp20182:Nice explanation. Although I still think security wise, it won't be that easy. I don't know about other African countries, but a lot of inter state roads in Nigeria are not that safe. Kidnappers regularly operate on those roads |
