thesilentone: Fed said lots of things that market proved them to be incorrect. Like you said, "inflation is transitory". There will never be any financial crisis in our lifetime - Janet Yellen We can achieve a soft landing - Jay Powell There is no recession - Jay powell We will bring inflation down to 2% target - Jay Powell. Soft landing looks increasingly difficult to achieve - Jay Powell. Two quarters of GDP declines doesn't mean a recession - Jay Powell. And lots of flip-flops. Central bank credibility is seriously at stake here. Just trade the signals you see and make money off dem CB. 5 Likes |

* I cautiously scanned thru today's price list.......and surprisingly, there wasn't many "reds" as may be expected.. * Some stocks reversed the shedding towards closing time... * Can see only GTCO seriously beaten..... * It is well. |

"BoE were responding to a “run dynamic” on pension funds - a wholesale equivalent of the run which destroyed Northern Rock. Had they not intervened, there would have been mass insolvencies of pension funds by THIS AFTERNOON." Imagine. Hearing that the finance minister (Kwazi Kwarteng) had been told to resign. But he is resisting. Complex things happening. Just imagine doing QE when UK is faced with 10% inflation rate. Inflation will finish the DMs. |

Treasury bills is now 12%, why put money in risky assets like stocks. Interesting days ahead. But I have a strong feeling that third quarter results will be very good and give a boost to the market 1 Like |

BoE is set to buy long dated bonds at a rate of up to £5BN per DAY (not typo) for the next 13 working days. The Conservatives are trying to please their party members with crazy, economically damaging policies. This is why I don't hit my head against the wall about Macro-economics. Too many variables with little control over anything. I focus on the business/company. RabbiDoracle: 3 Likes |

There is no respite for GTCO at the moment. The Selling pressure/volume is significant. yMcy56: |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Nobody: 8:27pm On Sep 28, 2022 |
thesilentone: They did already. They bought £1b out of the £5b offered today. Printing cash to buy bonds. BoE has expressed that if her move can't contain the pressure, then the UK financial stability will be impacted significantly. This is immaterial now. We are now focusing on the nuclear ping-pong that could occur soon between the elephants. The two elephants are giving emergency orders for their citizens to leave each other's country. Stay safe guys. |

gabscity:Lol, no be only you. I loaded more GTCO at 20 naira last month thinking I was buying the dip. Right now, I am only hoping it goes lower. The current gross dividend yield is making it even more attractive (assuming they don't reduce dividend o) and the CRR increase doesn't eat into their income. 4 Likes |

thesilentone:Hhmmm. Let's see if the 17.50 support will hold. Like you said, this week's trading is important to GTCo. Touched 17.75 briefly yesterday and quickly bounced back.. 1 Like |

daddymgg: gabscity:I know I'm not worthy to advice you o.......but when I see this kind of posts, it moves me. I think at this point, capital preservation will be the best bet. What I mean is that, you have to be very patient. We've been in this type of scenario before. That time, it was even worst because it cut across the whole market.....but respite eventually came. Like someone asked that time about this same GT, my advice then was to remain patient and control emotions; don't sell at loss, plan in your mind to convert to dividend stock for now, and if possible, stop logging in to your trading account to be checking and calculating the loss. If there's enough spare funds, you may wait for bottom-bottom to pick more when reversal is sighted. GTCo's results released so far were not that bad to warrant this huge shedding and dumping, some internal forces may be at play, especially since the demise of the owner...coupled with the economic situations in the country and across the globe. Let's be hopeful that things will turn around for good in not to far distance. 5 Likes |

Most of those who are buying GTCO now are in the hope of a massive dividend yield. But this one that GTCO has bent its head one side like an old layer egg, 2 things are possible 1. They may shock themselves by declaring a dividend far BPE (Below Public Expectation) 2. They may dip into RE (Retained Earnings) and declare a dividend as massive as that of yesteryear. But sadly, after QD, that may further push the price level towards the N15 neighborhood. We watch and wait... 2 Likes 1 Share |
