Nairobi is way above. https://youtube.com/shorts/J2KEea5yHm8?feature=share You need 50yrs just like your president said, for you to catch up with Nairobi. I swear , Lagos is on asteroid The year 2023 would be an amazing year for Lagos and Nigeria in general, as Dangote's largest refinery would begin operations, Ikordu Africa' largest rice mill factory would begin operations, the deepest sea ports in Africa would also begin operations, two rail lines (Red line and Blue line would start operations, the 10-lane Badagry and Oshodi Express with a BRT and rail line in the middle would be completed, and the massive Lekki Expressway would be finished. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MM7vlx3NppI 2 Likes |

Tatu city - with already 70 business/industries and 3,000 apartment units. The construction of Eneo at Tatu Central, which is the first Grade A office and retail complex in an SEZ in Kenya, is underway. Eneo offers flexible office space with ample parking. The anchor tenant is CCI Global, with a 4,500-seat call centre. Restaurants, shops and banks have already confirmed their tenancies at Eneo. 2 Likes

Fourpockets: Truly and surely this zoo is in soup . It’s worse than I thought. And to think rvp and his cohort were blindly defending all issues even when i brought them Up as warning in the previous years is just funny to watch. It’s all playing out now. That guy practically reiterated everything we talked about here in this thread. It’s as tho he has been one of us lurking around somewhere. Please pray for the zoo, the zoo is fvcked. |

I also remember talking about that empty new flyover for the rich. It has done nothing to salvage the traffic situation in the slumpolis of Nairobi. Just a new route create for a few wealthy to catch the next flight to their business meeting whilst the bulk of Nairobi rot beneath them and toil painfully day and night to find their lavish style (like paying the debt on that road amongst other irrelevant infrastructures that doesn’t benefit them) |

A Nigerian warning kenya about anything outside music, vodoo and nollywood is tickling - very funny. When it come to our economy - and or our country governance - we are waaaaaaaaaaay ahead. Our country despite zero minerals or limited arable land is ahead of many because of our ability to self-critique, to self-correct, and to generally reform & restructure before we become a ZOO! Our economy even now is an envy to many in Africa but we dont want average. We want to become proper middle class country by 2030. We are screaming murder because of our debt to gdp is 65% - and our debt servicing has crossed 35%. Nigeria is generally hopeless - debt servicing already exceed 100% . You're totally dependent on oil to survive. Basic stuff like having 24hour of electricity is miracle now. Piped water a miracle. Secure country is a miracle. Name it - you cannot even conduct census. Stuff like health insurance for all is alien. Education for all alien - leave alone changing curriculums. Ghana can talk - but Nigeria. Ghana mini-zoo with oil, gold and name it - behaving like Uganda - while it should be with south africa, namibia and botswana in proper middle class. Nigeria is DRC Congo. It Somalia with Oil. obaaderemi: 3 Likes |

Despite problems in horizons - Kenya economy grew by 7.5% in 2021 - and has fully recovered to pre-covid days. Despite historic drought, global inflation and election - I expect this year things will be good. Our tax collections have been up 20% - and ordinary taxes will likely cross 2 trillion kshs or 20b dollars. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YARYcMK4Ceo 1 Like |

We actually exceeded 2 trillion mark in taxes in 2021/2022 - from .1.67 to 2.03 in a year...now aiming for 3 trillion with Ruto. KRA EXCEEDS REVISED TARGET, RECORDS HIGHEST REVENUE GROWTH IN HISTORY PRESS RELEASE 07/07/2022 https://www.kra.go.ke/news-center/press-release/1752-kra-exceeds-revised-target,-records-highest-revenue-growth-in-history#:~:text=The%20Authority%20registered%20an%20above,revenue%20target%20revisions%20of%20KShs. Nairobi, 7th July, 2022…For the first time in Kenya’s history, the annual revenue collection has hit and surpassed the Two Trillion mark, defying the difficult economic environment brought about by Covid-19. This is after Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) recorded a monumental revenue collection of KShs. 2.031 Trillion for the Financial Year 2021/2022 (July 2021 – June 2022) compared to KShs. 1.669 Trillion collected in the last financial year (FY 2020/2021). Kenya has done extremely well despite very little in natural resources. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_hShxrLY8g&t=23s 1 Like |

Must be a typo - because it saying it increase. Kenya HDI in 2019/2020 was 6.01 - it has to drastically fall to 5.07. obaaderemi: 2 Likes |

Kenya HDI - seem there was dropped linked to COVID/Climate change in 2020 from 6.01 to 5.7 - then there an increase this year to 5.8. Most countries saw the drop in 2020 due to COVID. |

Mkenya2019:No typo. We're in 2022. Your Hdi decreased seriously. Even worse than a behemoth Nigeria with a chaotic vast north. Can you explain why your country has fallen like 10 places behind Ghana? Even behind Cameroon. This is what we warned you about. 2 Likes |

The drastic drop happened in 2020 - kenya moved back to 5.7 - last year we improved to 5.8 - and it affected all the countries except those like Nigeria who have trully found their bottom and cannot sink any further. I am not sure how Ghana faired better than Kenya during the pandemic but it's of course true that COVID took some sails off kenya. Generally we have had 3 yrs - 2020/2021/2022 - that have been horrible - but we shall be fully recovered and firing on all cylinders soon. I wish I could say the same about Nigeria. https://phys.org/news/2022-09-human-years-covid-crises.html A United Nations report published Thursday argues that an unprecedented array of crises, chiefly among them COVID-19, has set human progress back five years and fueled a global wave of uncertainty. The UN Development Program (UNDP) announced that for the first time since it was created over 30 years ago, the Human Development Index—a measure of countries' life expectancies, education levels, and standards of living—has declined for two years straight, in 2020 and 2021. obaaderemi: 1 Like |
Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by Mkenya2019: 4:22pm On Sep 30, 2022 |
UNDP-Human progress retreats to 2016 levels by COVID, other crises - so generally countries retreated back 4-5yrs and have to recover - it can be slow or quick recovery. Some countries like Nigeria are already in such a crisis nothing can take them down further. It appears that Ghana and Cameroon - breezed through COVID - obviously this why you need many indices (danger of one story) - because it's not true that Ghana were not affected- so UNDP are not infallible and make such errors. I am okay with reality that COVID hit us ahead - we had 1yr out of school - Uganda did 2yrs out. Tanzania basically breezed through but got hit economically. That some countries were not affected is bs - GHANA has been hard it. UNDP just didnt do their job there. obaaderemi: 1 Like |
