Is there anyone here whose program cuts across 2 different countries in Europe. First semester in a different country from Germany while second semester is in Germany but you decide to go through German visa to enter Europe cos it's difficult to get the visa of the country of first contact.

It's not unheard of
It's quite common with Erasmus sponsored programmes

Yeah. I happen to be doing an Erasmus semester in Poland and the other semester in Germany. But it's difficult to come by a Polish visa right now so I will be going by German visa. I want to know how to go about working my residence permit so that I can enter into Poland for my program there.

From what I have noticed with this latest trend of "CATEGORY A & B", most people (if not all) in category A get dates within a month. But for category B, they only give dates after about a year, just that the dates are limited because most dates are given to category A. That means about 50% of people in this category will get dates.
I understand the frustration but from my visit to the embassy last week, people from both categories were present for their respective visa interviews so definitely people are booked for visa interviews daily just that majority are in category A as they are more preferred. I wish everyone the best and let us work on other plans we have.
For those that have waited close to a year or more and still haven't gotten a date, stay calm. You'll probably get your dates in a matter of days/weeks if you are among the lucky ones. STAY POSITIVE. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND YOUR GOD. We look forward to all your visa testimonies cheesy
PS: I am not trying to bring anyone's spirit down but please let us be realistic and understand that the chances of being a category B applicant means you'll have to wait for a year to get dates and after all that, you probably have a 50% chance of getting an appointment date compared to category A that have 100% chance of getting dates within a month.

No.

You can block your account with Fintiba or Expatrio.

It is well.

For those who could enroll and attend classes online like myself, please do. Use the waiting time to fund your block account through form A. It is very likely CBN would stop form A by December this year

Goodluck to everyone!

Thank you for your input and I would like to add that for those of us that fall under category B and already have the blocked account funds, I will suggest you make Norway part of your other plans (in case Germany doesn't work out) as the proof of funds is in a closer range to theirs and they also have lots of tuition free schools plus a "not-so-stressful" visa application process unlike with categories in the German embassy.

PS: MAKE YOUR OWN RESEARCH before going ahead with this if you plan to

Hello, everyone.
Any one currently studying at OTH Amberg-Weiden?
Please reach out to me, much thanks.

Also, for those who are already in Germany, how do you go about the extension/renewal of the residence permit, especially concerning the financial requirement?

Hi guys. I got admission in a German uni ( I’m supposed to resume this month) and I confused on steps to take.

I can’t defer my admission but my school said I have to enroll for this semester but can start classes next semester and I don’t know where to go from here

Pls what steps do I take now?

If you haven't applied for a German visa, please note that it takes up to a year to get visa appointment if you are a category B applicant and it takes few weeks if you are a category A applicant. With this in mind, if you are a category A applicant, you have no problem, just enroll and apply for your visa, you'll definitely get in time for the next semester at most. But if you are a category B applicant and your school can't defer your admission to next session, the probability of your visa being ready by next semester is slim.

(You can risk it, enroll, start online classes for this semester and hope to get visa before next semester starts. The choice is yours)

My German Visa Process/Testimony
Booked 1st appointment date 13th May 2022

Got 1st AD for interview 8th June, 2022
Was having blocked account funding issues (didn't understand the process). So i had to cancel ❌ the appointment. 7th June

Rebooked for appoint 16th July 2022 (account got funded by a friend in Germany after waiting for Form A for 2months)
Got AD 1 hour later for 25th July 2022

Interview went well
My BA confirmation hadn't come out yet so I went with just opening document (German banks are quite slow with transactions). The interviewer said i should send it via mail.

Got my BA confirmation the next day.
Sent it twice via mail. Three times sef

4 weeks later

August 24th 2022, Received a mail saying i should DHL my blocked account confirmation or bring it personally.

I went to embassy to submit it personally the next day.
Expecting to hear from them soonest.
Waited and waited lol

Another 4 weeks later

Got AM in the morning 19th September 2022. Went to embassy the same day to submit passport (FINTIBA handle travel insurance)

Received Visa from DHL 28th sept 2022

Travelled 2nd Oct via Ethiopian Airlines (I booked flight before AM came out)

Landed in Germany 3rd Oct.

Thanks for all the information from this group. You guys have been awesome. As God did it for me. So will be do it for you.
