Lagos Job Of N50,000 Or Ibadan Job Of N50,000 by Hardaydayjee: 10:11am On Oct 04, 2022
Good day group..
.I need your advice.

I am Currently working in Lagos on a salary of 50 to 55k on a 12 hrs(8am to 8pm for a shift and 8pm to 8am for other shift). You can find a place to sleep over if you decided not to go house. But before next year there will definitely be an opportunity in the same organization to be a permanent staff on a salary of 80k on the same 12hrs but with a monthly leave, 13 month salary, incentive bonus.

There is also another opportunity in Ibadan on a salary of 50k and a daily meal but 7 to 3pm for morning shift and 2pm to 10pm for the other shift, a day leave every week, after a year the organization will be paying 13 month salary, accomodations and if I decided not to stay over, just 200 naira to my place in Ibadan, bonuses every festive period both cash and food.

Thinking of going for the Ibadan job and using the remaining hours after work to learn a skill because self employment is the key. But career wise, I need your advice.

The Lagos job is my line of field while Ibadan is deviation to another field

Everyone is getting jobs in Lagos, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Ogun, Ebonyi, Edo, Kano, Kogi etc but you will never see people getting jobs in Anambra yet you will see one stupid clown saying he wants to be president. President kill him there

Considering time availability for other self enhancement and engagement, go for the Ibadan job.
But if there's constant career development in the Lagos job, stick to it.

But comparing Lagos to Ibadan in terms of living, the thing far oooo. Ibadan is still cheap when it comes to accommodation and other basic necessities. My take

Even if Ibadan pays you half of what Lagos pays you I will still say move to Ibadan. Lagos is an overated shit hole. Traffic, overly expensive things for no reason. Disease spreading oloshos every where charging premium. Ugly oloshos and ugly girls everywhere. Why will u see all this and still choose Lagos? Imagine spending 13hours working then still go face traffic.
The chances of you dieing prematurely in Lagos is 10x compared to Ibadan. If the traffic , bad air, bad food etc no shorten your life span, trust me these oloshos and ugly dirty girls will surely give you one deadly disease to shorten your lifespan

Ibadan is one of the fastest growing Cities in Nigeria today.

The city is developing at an alarming pace. More opportunities are opening up in the city.

The cost of living is also going up but it's still cheaper than Lagos.

When you become a permanent staff you get paid a 13 month salary (your basic salary only, allowances excluded) on your annual leave.

Breakdown:
If your basic salary is #50k and you receive #100k at the end of the month including allowances, on your annual leave month, you will receive #150k.

That's it.

Before you settle for the second option which is better off,go and ask staffs there like 2-3 if they are being treated this way or if it's just a mere employer to employee gimmick to bring you in at all cost.

This rubbish you type how is it related to the topic at hand & how does it bring change/solution to what the OP want?
Let ham sink into your skull, all these politicians nor send you, they are for their own pockets, how many of their children you see for the political rally so far?
I pity you if at the end of the day they didn't give you a political appointment.

I am not the OP in question.

I just decided to answer your question though, but I think it's that way, only reputable and big companies pay such benefits to staffs.
