NCD they are asking for is the one in UK not anywhere else so you can't claim you have it. By the way ,what is the cost that they are giving you on which car model

Hello guys,
I just registered with Mashmallow insurance with my Nigerian Drivers license. I indicated that I have driven for 4 years and no claims before coming to the UK. Now the vehicle insurance is requesting for a "Proof of your No claims discount". How do I go about this?
Your kind advice is needed. Thanks

Did you own a car in Nigeria with genuine insurance? If yes reach out to your contact and get them to issue you a letter stating you had no claims. I did this with Marshmallow and had no issues claiming NCD. My insurance broker facilitated the letter. It’s also not true they don’t recognize proof of NCD from Nigeria.

If you can’t provide this, they will revert your insurance pricing to what it should have been without NCD which is most likely higher by some margin.

@Santa2 thanks so much for the kind words. They are soul lifting. Yours' and Amarathripple0 expression are profoundly appreciated. I shall remain committed in so far as I can by His sustaining grace.
Though not entirely new to the UK since 2002, however when I took the plunge in 2007 (HSMP), I wished I know or have a forum like this back then. Some decisions would have been taken differently. Nonetheless, I'm still grateful to God. We shall all get there within and without UK.
@Amarathripple0 may we call swell in monetary healthy and peaceful wealth. On the monetary, hope oga Lexusgs430 will not come tax me for Kent road on Fri 9t or Sunday evening! wink grin Not that there's hiding in Camberwell or even NW2!
PS: I'm immensely grateful to all. It's been a renewed learning for me. Thanks Justwise for my 'get out of jail!'

I think some "African Parents" still have a lot of work to do with children upbringing in this country. We are always quick to talk about Racism when it involves white people, but what do we call the attack from a black person to another black person?
I took time out of my full time job after 3 years of working with the same employer to give more time/attention to my Baby and now working as a supply teacher by going to different schools to work based on my availability, but the abuse, gross disrespect and bad behaviour I have witnessed over the past few weeks from black children is really shocking to me.
They just instantly look down on you and would never want to follow the instruction from a black teacher, no proper home training or morals from most of these children.

Dear African Parents, apart from working back to back shifts, Please take time to discipline your children and teach them good virtues.

Morning!

For all looking to grab some extra £££ from current account switches.
Nationwide currently offers £200 to switch to their account but there are others with other incentives.

Note that opening or switching 3 or more bank accounts in a short period of time can have an impact on your credit rating.

When I got to Liverpool,I lived between Zimbabwe family and a Brit single mom of 3kids.
Her kid play the roughest I’ve seen. One time the little boy had his lip almost cut off when he fell.Ambulance/police arrived and boy got admitted for a week and came back home.Mom swears at them and cussing their dad’s publicly.Infact she was delusional.

The Zimbabwe guy was a normal black guy, minding his business but the day one of the kids unfortunately rolled down the stairs, there where no physical injuries .He personally took the child to GP for checks
That was the beginning of problems.2sec they involved safe guarding and police, the zim guy flared up,because he felt it wasn’t that serious.2sec they changed it to angry black man.
Long story short ,they took his 2 kids and he had to battle for months to get em back.

There is nothing in this story that justifies your claim that white hates blacks.

If you hang around people with this mindset then you will struggle to survive in this country . No race is perfect, look for something positive in people and not always focus on negative and conspiracy theories.

Are we blacks love and care for each other?

Good luck

You can do one of 3 things -

PS - although insurance is not compulsory as a landlord, it is very very prudent to take one that also covers loss of rent and legal cover. If you even have to evict a tenant, those 2 policies come into their own

Thanks a lot , I appreciate

Quite frankly, all these plenty talks of racism are quite hypocritical to a large extent especially coming from Nigerian. Does racism exist? Yes, to a certain degree, there's even Brit on Brit prejudices against themselves, but if you go on daily bouts looking for actions to label as racism, you're going to find it.
Some people might be nasty and just generally a*sholes and it has nothing to do with racism it's just who they are, for better or worse, we have such people in Nigeria as well, you don't go around shouting racism or tribalism against their every actions.
Same people complaining of racism here, are the same ones saying Peter Obi cannot be president of Nigeria because he is Ibo or Tinubu president because he is Yoruba. Same people who will refuse their sons or daughters to marry people of other tribes because of some centuries old prejudices still being propagated.
We can't come into the country and always be trying to play the victim card at any given opportunity, it'll only stunt your personal progress, not every white man or woman is racist, and not every white person who rubs you the wrong way did so because you're black, let's learn to look at things objectively and not always through the lens of racism.

Passed my driving test today and was a first timer. Took so long because I was on and off with learning.
Helpful tip for anyone would be just get started with lessons and plan to get your license soon, that’s definitely saving you loads of money.
And it’s really hard to get a date now and an advice on this would just be to login to the site on Monday by 6am as that’s when new dates gets released and afterwards, you can just use this app I use to get an early date. Just select the dates you want and turn on autobooking. This app took me from Jan 2023 to early October 2022.
Thanks lexusgs430 I remember you replied on hours to get started with a few years back.
Hey, Quick question, did you have to pay for the instructor to be at your practical driving test or was this taken out of the hours you paid?

I remember when I first got in here, I attempted to play the race card at a situation which I even shared here. I had to unlearn that nonsense fast else it would have affected my outlook at everything. The OP parked on the road and left a child standing by themself, that should have been enough to understand why the person was speaking to their child. As for that person defending his stance on racism, he should just go back to Nigeria because he’s disturbing this thread.

Hi,

Please gurus I need help.

At the beginning of last month, I did one housekeeping job from 8-5 after which I said I wasn't doing again cos it was extremely stressful.

They said I'll have to wait till month end.

Today is 4th and stories are beginning to enter like it was trial shift, I was on the laptop for 3 hours (I was for one hour) I didn't work up till 5, they will send mail...

Please what do I do besides going?

I've been there twice now and honestly, if I go there the third time, the anger I'm feeling may cause me to do things.

Please help

Bringing up a child is not easy at all... my best friend is having so much issue with her son. She beats. She scolds, she disciplines yet he goes to school and be hitting and fighting up and down

If not that I know this lady and the effort, if I see the son separately I would say the parents are not disciplining or teaching good values .

So I don't even know again.... you can try your best but the child can grow up to what you don't even know. May God help us all

Sorry to hear about your experience... finger cross, better days ahead
