It's a sad testament to Nigerian youths that they refused to think about the message but jumped on the messengers back while another two where insulting each other and their families just for politician's sake. This thread is a poor testament to Nigerian youths. We really do have a long way to go. 1 Like |

Buckeyemedia1: You are talking rubbish. For example, if Obi becomes president and after his 8 years in office Nigeria becomes one of the 10 largest economies in the world you will argue Obi had nothing to do with it because Nigerian economy was already the largest in Africa when he took over? You guys are not good with logical reasoning. |

Context 1. Our forex needs were not that great because smaller population 2. It was the height of the oil boom. 3. The UK was weak economically 4. We exported far more than oil, but the danger signs were coming. 1982 was the last year of the groundnut pyramids 5. The shagari regime was not saving so forex was flying around, buffering the naira 6. It was going to eventually depreciate because we were not an and still not a active exporter of manufactured goods and services 7. If obi wins, the pound won't go back to that level. |

Ubanz: No, the naira was going to plunge because in October 1982, oil prices crashed. This meant that our dollar revenue fell drastically As a result, the value of the naira fell. So long as our naira value depends on revenue from oil and other raw materials whose prices fluctuate meaning earnings fluctuate, we will never have a strong naira. At least blame buhari for not diversifying our economy in his 8 years in office. In 1984, the situation was different. Even then he could have started something 1 Like |

Kasssandra: Also add that our forex needs were not that great because we were consuming mainly local products. We were driving made in Nigeria cars - Peugeot, Volkwagon, etc., we were wearing mare in Nigeria cloths and shoes - Kano textiles, Bata shoes, etc., we were eating made in Nigeria foods - no noodles, bread, we only eat rice once a year, and won't of all no imported fuels. So what did people need dollars and pounds for? 2 Likes 1 Share |

Buckeyemedia1:I hate it when people decide to be foolish especially when they have the capacity to act otherwise.. Jeez...... I have been saying this and I will keep saying this: GOVERNMENT OF EVERY COUNTRY HAVE A GREATER ROLE TO PLAY IN THE BETTERMENT OF THEIR COUNTRY..... And who told you that Nigerians are lazy... If Nigerians were lazy...they wont be trooping out of the their own country to other countries for greener pastures (in large numbers) even in severe cold, they do all they can to put food on the table for themselves and their family (the ones with them and the remaining ones in Nigeria).. Infact those who can't afford to travel... Move out of their houses every single day..(some even go on Sundays when occasion calls for it) to their various jobs to make sure they can keep their jobs and provide for their family....even when most employers take advantage of the bad economic situations to pay them less..they won't mind.....they keep moving... Pls don't ever in life say NIGERIANS ARE LAZY... if you no wan collect curse.. You think you are full of yourself...no.....you are full of shit.... Rubbish Stupid idiot, because you have the advantage to get things right early doesn't mean others are lazy... The shame is on you... 3 Likes |

Buckeyemedia1:We have to accept responsibility. Not everyone is responsible for what is going in Naija. Naija Army and their cronies won the war over 40yrs and decided to share Naija assets amongst themselves as spoils of tje war. They refused to build power stations, hospitals, cities, schools, airports, roads for themselves. There is no state in the country where there is a city like Nairobi, Tripoli, Cairo with functioning streetlights, fire and Ems services… portable tap running water. No Naija airport is as good as good Nairobi’s..This fallacy that everyone is responsible is pure delusion. 1 Like |

Importation of goods to Nigeria by container economists is the culpable for this. Ask Obingo how much he spends every year to import Amarula gogoro to Nigeria, your so called Messiah that's hurting economy. |

Only fools listen to this nonsense rhetoric. Imagine saying Nigeria will be a global force in 10 years just so you could promote your chosen candidate. Something even china and Dubai couldn't do. People are even praising someone that lacks understanding of simple arithmetic. |

Proudlyngwa:That's how you see it.... Because the Society produce the leaders doesn't mean the society is respons mmible for the decisions they (leaders) make Now the major problem of Nigeria is corruption.....the leaders are the ones who started that corruption.... Now the leaders have the power and the authority to make laws and enforce laws that make the constitution.... Now even though the Society produces the leaders who then decides to be corrupt....and with the power and authority vested on them ...can the society confront them...... Ok wait...I want to ask some questions... * Who make the laws ... The Nigerian society * Who implement the laws.... The Nigerian society *Who interpret the laws........the Niigerian society Let's discuss it.... These guys in the arms of government are the ones who rule Nigeria.... And once they do not rule well...it will have a consequential effect on the citizens.... For example If you are Into economics very well...you will understand that one of the majors effect of unemployment(one of many Nigeria's problem) is the increase in crime rate.... That's the consequential effect of a bad government.... Lets stop blaming Nigerians..... Once those who represents us in government can make standard laws (not laws that favours them)..every body will sit up... Go to south Africa....their forner president in the person of Mr zuma....he is in jail as I speak to you ..that's a country that has laws... But in Nigeria...they will tell you immunity...how many of our president has been brought to court for questioning....cos there is no law..even though they were involved in corrupt activities during their tenure .... Look at the case of china ...which government officials dare to steal public funds... Once you are caught you are gone.... That's how it is...... A lawless government will create a lawless Society.....the government is lawless.... citizens will automatically be outlaws.. Why do we have government in the first place...is it not to avoid anarchy..... Government has a purpose Because I vote you come mean say make you do anyhow.. because you no say nobody go catch you...you see why I said we needs laws that works.... We are of different ethnic tribe, religion ..and we still don't have laws...what do you expect.... Even God has laws and policies that he sticks with... Ok now why do Nigerians kind of behave well when they get to Europe...... because they are conscious of the law there... Society produces - the leaders (who are expected to be unbiased) the leaders produces- laws and policies that governs the society.... That's the circle... But it's not there .. Nigerians pay for everything they use for themselves and you are saying they are lazy....na shame ooo..... Nigerians are not encouraged..they are not motivated...cos the cost of living is high...the standard of living is not there.... people are now selfish... why... because we now have the instinct - survivor of the fittest Look at it... When a man that is supposed to be the head of his family... doesn't do anything in the house....food oo na wife , house oo na wife... children school fees ooo na wife..... Do you think the wife will have any single respect for the husband..no matter how small Omoo Let's be realistic abeg... |
