By the time u adjust ur tea price to the dollar to sell to Nigeria, for example, you'll find out that Nigerians might not buy ur tea cos it'll be more expensive than what we buy here, might even be costlier than importing from foreign countries.

It's a good start. I dont see one currency as being impediment. Transport system require urgent work. There a lot of hardwork required to remove tarrifs, change laws, open up borders, remove passports requirements for travel intra-africa...so many low hanging fruits...before we go for one currency, one language, one president..on united africa...in 200yrs from now.

See - you dont make any sense. Why would the exchange rate differential be that much. And like I told you - traders will have no problem accepting CEDIS (if it become stable) - and KSH.

Removing tarrifs alone btw Kenya and Ghana - allowing free trade - will reduce the cost of trade by 40-50%. To enter England - kenya tea have to meet very high standards - then snake it way back to Ghana as Unilver Lipton tea (never mind England cultivate zero tea) - after all that changing hands - they become very expensive. For cocoa it the same - Swiss dont farm any cocoa - but Kenyans will import Chocolate from there. If Ghana want milk - they go to Europe - when Kenya is awash with milk.

If we export directly to Ghana with free trade - it become very cheap for Ghana and very profitable for kenya - its a win- win - currency exchange loss will be minimal - margins of buy/selling dollars that bankers will keep.

Once trade blossom - and countries keep their currencies fairly stable - intra-africa exchange rate develop - you dont need dollars - you just need to know Kshs to Cedis or Naira rate.
