So I was calculating my expenses of last month yesterday and it just came to me that sharing this might be helpful to someone else as well. I have been doing this since 2019 and it has really helped me spend less and save a lot of money; just two simple habits:

- Track your daily expenses: I write down every single thing that I spent money on the previous day every morning before leaving for work. In fact it has become like a reflex action. When you track your spendings and do a monthly summary, it gives you an idea of the things you're spending your money on and that "I no know wetin I use that money take do" would be far from you. It also makes you conscious of what you spend money on and so you spend less.

- Make a budget and stick with it: I run my own business but I pay myself salary every month. Towards the end of every month, I make a budget of all the things that I'll be needing for the next month and buy them on the first day of the new month.
I also keep the money I'll be needing for other stuffs like food in cash so I don't have any reason to go back to my bank account.

Unforseen expenses don't come all the time, and it's always advisable to have reserve cash for emergencies.
