The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Sen. Iyorchia Ayu, has said that he was given a mandate to re-establish the party to power and not to loot or be reckless with party funds. Ayu was speaking while welcoming the Forum of Elected Ex-Officio Members of the party who paid him a solidarity visit at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.

He added that he has directed the party’s finance department to uphold an update on the party’s income and expenditure account for presentation to the party’s National Executive Committee at the first-year commemoration of the current NWC in December. He further said that this was his first reaction to charges against him in the media of bribery and illegal payments to members of the party’s National Working Committee members.
