The Labour Party is in crisis as the National Working Committee distances itself from Presidential Campaign Council, threaten to implode the party if Peter Obi does not come clean.

All is not well with the Labour Party as the National Chairman and Secretary of the party both distanced themselves from the Presidential campaign council unveiled by a certain Doyin Okupe, who named himself the Director General of the council.

The composition of the said council list among other issues has led to serious cracks within the Party NWC and other members who have threatened to collapse the party if their Presidential candidate doesn’t come clean and live up to his words.

The party had announced the campaign council with Peter Obi as the Presidential candidate, Doyin Okupe, the purported Director General, and Clement Ojukwu, Secretary of the council, all from the South of Nigeria, which has left people questioning the party's negligence of the North in key positions of the party and campaign council.

Comrade Arambabi Abayomi, the Labour Party's National Publicity Secretary, has also chastised Peter Obi and Doyin Okupe for their insensitivity and nepotism within the party. He questioned whether Peter Obi intends to be President in this manner if he wins on the party's platform.

"We are not involved in Peter Obi and Dr Okupe's mischievous political shenanigans. That is not the party's program. They can't be talking about our party, our party all the time. Which party? Is Okupe, the Labour Party's leader, who is he to announce himself as the DG? It's an anomaly.

"How can we have a presidential candidate from the South and the Campaign DG coming from the same South.'' Abayomi lamented.

Sources within the party have accused Peter Obi of not being consistent with his words and lacking integrity. He perhaps appears to be a pretentious human, treacherous and a sectional leader.

He supported the mischief of Doyin Okupe by supporting him to announce himself as Director General when both of them are from the South and Christians too in a multi-ethnic and religious nation.

What is different about Peter Obi and Okupe's actions to what is happening in the APC and Tinubu Muslim/Muslim ticket.

According to a party source, Peter has been at odds with the party's leadership over range of issues. Peter Obi rejected the party's official account for monetary donations in favor of his own personal account. Aside from the devious Campaign Council, there are other areas of contention within the party, such as finance management and the usurpation of NWC authority, with a few key members threatening to implode the Labour Party if Peter Obi continues to play tricks on them.

These so called labor party officials are thieves who want to reap where they did not show. They're just hungry for money. That's if this report is true oo.

If not for Peter Obi, who will know about labor party? All of them should be thankful that Obi decided to bless their platform with his stardom. He must run his campaign as he see fits.

Many of these labor party officials were simply stooges for the major parties and till now some of them are still moles for the APC PDP evil twins.
Obi must have complete autonomy over every single campaign choice. It's totally his campaign.
Anywhere he goes, we follow. We all want a breath of fresh air not be the old ways of politicking.

U are political naive and I pity ur sense of judgment.
Labour Party has been existing b4 Peter obi
: obi came to Labour Party and not the other way round.
Labour Party has its own officials running the affairs of the party b4 obi seek for their presidential ticket
Obi cannot come to their party and hijacked it from the original owners who has been doing their meeting quietly.
U accused Labour Party officials of being a thief.
: yes they are thief because they never expect to see that kind of money. The party officials and even the so called presidential council are all shocked with the money flow and I can’t blame them if they want to have their cut. From head to tail, no former governor, ministers commissioners, senators e.t.c.
How can u tell them to allow obi be the defacto and runs a party he lobby to be incorporated anyhow.
:if obi shld keep up with this attitude, it’s like broad day life robbery. Trying to rob the party from the original owner.
If the official should keep quiet and allow obi to do anyhow he like when he has not bcoms the president, what do u think he will do to them when he bcoms the president.

Them?? These people were non entities. Their party was as useless as the p in psychology. They were not different from all these parties like kowa, pvp and the rest. They had just 5k votes out of 26 million in the last election. They should thank their God who has just used Pete Obi to give them national appeal.
If that report is true, they must fall in line and allow Obi run his campaign as he sees fit. They are totally useless to his movement. If he left today, every single supporter would abandon them immediately.

Obi is not yet president but his campaign coordinators are igbos even in non Igbo states

Tell me how igbos will not b governors of every state when he becomes president?

Imagine someone defending obi by telling us he picked an Igbo coordinator in sokoto because the man was born n bred in sokoto,so to u Yorubas if they can appoint an Igbo man in sokoto which they agree is a core northern state

Don’t u think an Igbo man will b governor of Lagos that they proudly call no man’s land?
Imagine an Igbo being d governor of Lagos state n all other Yoruba state simply because u follow herd mentality n u were deceived that they were for u when they already had their initial plan?

Yoruba ronu ooo

He fled PDP to join Labour he has never had any affiliation with all out of desperation. Obi is a deceitful and treacherous person.

Put brilliantly but Obi fans can never think and talk sensibly because they are not responsible or fair people.

It was Obi who fled PDP to hijack and use the Labour Party cynically. Does it never worry Obi fans that he is a leader who only uses Parties and has never helped to build one or made any stronger.

In fact Obi is even accused of damaging APGA deliberately. It is Obi's political promiscuity and cowardice that has left him needing the Labour Party and not the other way round as Obi's delusional fans assume is the case.

Indeed. The Party is easy to compromise and sabotage from inside because it is full of unprincipled losers and hungry politicians .

This is a Party much older than APC yet has only 3 lawmakers of the over 1000 in Nigeria.

This is what the unprincipled Obi has put himself into and he should accept all the consequences of his cowardly act in fleeing PDP for worthless Labour.
