Stop dreaming, strike won’t be suspended - Senior lecturer tells 'happy' Nigerian students, gives reasons.

“You are weird if you think schools will resume,” Dr. Garvey Ufot, a senior Nigerian lecturer has passed a strong warning to Nigerian university students who are super-excited and those hoping that the strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) would end very soon.

The senior lecturer who is a profound scholar passed this strong message, with reasons, on Wednesday when different ASUU branches were holding their congresses nationwide.
According to him, the strike is far from over.

In his words, while responding to a UNIUYO student who was applauding ASUU and the Nigerian government for reaching an agreement, the lecturer wrote:

"And who told you that you’re going back to school anytime soon. This is delusional wishful thinking of the worst sort.

“I’ve just returned from ASUU Congress meeting, and unless there’s a miracle, or the national Executives of ASUU decide to go it alone, this strike is not likely to be suspended anytime soon.

“Most of you, including students who are supposed to know better but refuse to be intelligent, are responding to, and salivating on, a fake and illiterate online report about the strike being suspended on Monday, next week, when ASUU Congresses are just meeting to deliberate on the progress so far only to be told that President Buhari has, contrary to what the Speaker of the House of Reps, Femi Gbajabiamila, said would happen by yesterday, Tuesday, not responded to the agreement he cobbled together with ASUU.

“You guys are just weird if you think school will resume and lecturers will attend to any student without their seven months salaries. Grow up, guys, grow up. There will be no resumption until Buhari is ready to act responsibly.
“Even the principal officers of our universities, namely, the VC, Registrar, Bursar and Librarian have not been receiving their salaries since February despite the fact that they have been working since then.

“So how will the Senate of any university meet to work out any specific resumption date and the calendar of the remainder of the semester? But having said that, I can also tell you that the strike might be suspended even tomorrow if tonight, Buhari approves the agreement that the speaker has reached with ASUU.”

Na that 7 months salary dey pain this archaic lecturer like this cheesy

Forget about Buhari, the 7 days window the appellate court gave your union will elapse soon.

I know Buhari won't pay any dime before, but the lecturers can turn the 7 months of no salary to 12 months of the same, it depends on what they prefer.

Next time you consider your salary before absconding from work.

Does anyone notice the 'arrogance' and 'elitism' in this lecturer's write-up? Or shey my eyes dey deceive me ni? angry angry

An average Nigerian lecturer considers himself a demi-god. Tufia!

It's this kind of lecturer that fails a student three times if you dare ask him a question.
