So which govt is evil?

The Federal government or the Eastern government?

Because, the report never said Federal government to start Badagry deep seaport. The project is to be handled by Lagos state govt.

Honestly, Eastern govs are the luckiest administrators in Nigeria. State govt projects ongoing in every state, but Easterners are insulting Buhari for not doing state projects with fed govt funds.

Choi, Eastern govs dey enjoy o. grin

I think it has to do with FG allowing all states to make use of their resources. Lagos don survive without FG allocation so they know where to source for funds.

I might be wrong sha.

You're free to vote as you will. But after what Buhari has done to that country, it's inconceivable you think Nigeria can put up with another invalid President that's pissing on himself and being helped to stand up & walk. Wouldn't that be what you folks call witchcraft? Remember the saying: as you make your bed...

Yorubas should be grateful to Buhari. Jonathan and Obj neglected Lagos.

Obasanjo cannot point out anything or any value he added to Lagos yet he wants Yorubas to respect him. It's only Police Computer College that he brought to Abeokuta. The Sango Ota Abeokuta Road was an abandoned poor project he bequeathed to us and till today it's all lamentations. Tinubu has done so much more for Yorubas and Yoruba land as governor and influencer that a president for 8 yrs.

Lagos, the commercial hub of Nigeria, has been ranking as one of the worst places to live in the world for the nine straight years, a BusinessDay analysis shows.

Data from the 2019 Global Liveability Index published by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), the world’s leader in global business intelligence, shows the city has been within the range of 137th-139th position out of a total of 140 cities in the world from year 2011-2019.

Last year, Nigeria overtook India as the country with the largest number of people living in extreme poverty, thereby becoming the world capital of poverty, according to the Brookings Institute. This year, the number has risen to 91.6 million from 87 million in June 2018. Every minute, six Nigerians enter the group of extremely poor people, according to the World Poverty Clock.

What going was rough under Jonathan, who was approving Lagos loans easily?

JUNE 5, 2014

The Lagos State Government received approval from the Federal Executive Council on Wednesday for two separate loans totalling $242.2m (about N40bn) from the International Development Association (IDA).

The minister of information, Mr. Labaran Maku, who disclosed this to state house correspondents at the end of the FEC meeting presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan, said $200m loan was approved to support infrastructure in the state while an additional loan of $42.2m would be in *support of secondary education.*

He added that the loans are the *second phase of a $600m facility approved for the state by the IDA in 2010, having received $200m under the first phase in 2011.*

“The minister of finance brought a memorandum seeking approval to obtain additional credit facility from the International Development Association in support of the Second Lagos State Development Policy Operation,” Maku said.

“The objective of the project is to improve on public finance in a sustainable manner and consolidate on the achievements recorded under the first phase of the project. It covers the *construction of a 27km light rail, construction of schools and the construction of Adiyan mini waterworks* to provide two million gallons of water per day.”

You guys are making one big mistake thinking that it's been built by federal government. No, it's a Lagos State government project to be fully funded by the state.

Therefore, other governors by the Atlantic ocean who have the capacity and resources to develop a Sea Port should apply for license to do so.
