I watched Wike for two hours yesterday and Lamido Sanusi for 55 minutes today and enjoyed every minute of it.

I can barely watch Tinubu for more than 5 minutes. He bores me to death.

Tinubu is old and should be resting. There is no two ways about it. He might be intelligent. He may be smart. But some one that is obviously suffering from parkinson and slurs his speeches, we can do better abeg. The problem is this country is corrupted to a point of no return. So people supporting the presidency of tinubu has a hidden agenda and definitely doesn't wish this country well .

And like I said sometime ago... Tribalism plays a big part in all this.

BAT the incoming President..... by God's willing! Yes he's old... guess Biden is a Baby? Guess Atiku is as youthful as many of you? Guess it's not Intelligence or/and smartness needed to rule a Nation but pace and power?!

Some of you are seeing BAT as a Threat, surprisingly Threat against your Candidate. You guys believe Atiku is no match if BAT is out of the Race.... LOL!

The only southern Candidate that wrestle power from North successfully is BAT... yes Tinubu only can defeat Atiku at the Poll as far as southern Candidate is concerned.

If not for our stupid political outlook, his statement should have been rubbish.
But once most politicians enter power, they don't think of continuity at all, they abandon previous project embarked on by their predecessor and start their own.
Our political class need to imbibe the idea of continuity without one man trying to force it by appointing successors and even controlling them. That practice is undemocratic.

You people are really not okay.
You do realize that this man is appraising godfatherism, right? Like there is nothing you people will not defend.

If this man had said. "You should also build people up" that would make sense. That can mean, investing in human infrastructure or in individuals, like sponsoring peoples education or the likes.

But this yellow teeth-stained drug baron is literally saying, "build a successor" , and you're cheering.

Who built Obama? Who built Trump? Who built Biden? It's only in Africa you see sheeples cheering godfatherism colored in words.

Godfatherism that has enabled him to have "state capture", to build a bridge from the Lagos state Treasury to his babariga. That has made him use tribal politics to thrive in the state by using divide and rule tactics.

Shameless urchinses.

One key reason for this is because our democracy just hasn't matured, because if it has, this is where the state house legislators come in. People always forget that the state legislature are the ones who responsible for approving state budgets.

A functional state assembly wouldn't let every brand new executive just come in and abandon ongoing projects or allow "white elephant" projects.

But every single state assembly in Nigeria are just rubber stamp houses with all members being stooges of the state governors.
I believe that with time sha, this would change.

But this should never be the basis for appraising godfatherism. Godfatherism is inimical to democracy.

Godfatherism leads to state capture and also situations whereby states are run like mafia organizations. We've seen this with Lagos, delta, Enugu, abia and the rest where godfatherism has been bad for the states.

This is what I don't understand with you guys.
It seems to me that because Tinubu and Atiku are zero in your books, then Obi must be 10 over 10.

Or else you've not being paying attention to this man, the numerous interviews he grants, the numerous events he attends and speeches granted almost every single day, you can't say he hasn't laid out his plans.

Somehow, you all have now set the very highest of standards for him. You are now looking for a God like candidate to rule nigeria. I'm sure even if God came down now, you will still somehow find room for inadequacies.

Why should scrutiny of your candidate bother you? cheesy
If Atiku and Tinubu are zero in my books, does that obligate me to be licking PO's boots? No.
IMO, PO and Obidients are the ones setting high standards for PO, and it's not bad, except you want people to automatically follow PO blindly because the other two candidates are bad.
It's an election, people have different drive, your black and white utopia doesn't exist here.
"you say you are voting PO, but you must market him, don't criticize him, or at least criticize other candidates more" bla bla, sorry I don't fit into your expectations, that's all I can tell you.

What you don't know is that, in politics, a mindset like this only ends up demarkerting the candidate, that is if you're still saying you're voting for this man and hoping he wins. Sowing seeds of doubt into the minds of those who don't vote, people we're trying to make get engaged in the process.

Lmaoooo, since when did I subscribe to being an activist? I don't even consider myself obidient cheesy
So why should I be bothered about that??
I comment on issues I like, if you are expecting me to contribute to your obidient activism one way or another, sorry.
By the way, you are doing a good job at your activism, more grease to your elbows.

As for your question on security. This is a snippet of his objectives towards securing Nigeria.

I am OK with this.

Remember, Tinubu a d Atiku keep hiding from the media. Any time they talk, na so so blunder we dey hear.
True, that is exactly why I say the other options are worse.

The bold hardly exists.
Most governors first wrestle control of their state house of assembly. On the flip side, if there is infighting between state government and state house of assembly, the state may stagnate and in such political war, the people are given the last consideration.

I don't support godfatherism in any way or form, cause we vote leaders to lead us, not for their godfathers to lead through them. It happens though, in fact, the reason it is not more prevalent is because many people tried to establish themselves as godfathers and failed.

Well that's a steady progression that's gradual and sensible not just telling fables

El Rufai turned Abuja from rotten to bad, and gradually to fair then to good

Yet their own people get a free pass

You say you want a departure from the old political class why not Sowore No but na a 2 time governor, a previous VP candidate us the savior that's the departure from common sense
lol

This post really put it succinctly

seunmsg:
We can now properly situate the Obidient movement into two groups. The first group is made up of Igbo folks who are simply riding on the discontent of young people with the situation of things in the country to push for an Igbo man (Peter Obi) as president irrespective of his solid record of failure as a governor.

The second group is made up of young, naive, ignorant, idealistic and deluded folks from other ethnic groups who think there is truly a messiah out there with a magic wand to turn Nigeria to America under a year.

The first group don’t really care about competence or a better Nigeria, they just want their ethic lord as president. To them, Peter Obi is the Voldemort who can never be wrong and must never be questioned even by his own supporters. Now that obvious gaps are appearing in the decisions of Peter Obi which calls his real intention and competence to question, the deluded second group want to start asking critical questions but the first group are saying no. Don’t ask questions or else, we drag you wotowoto despite the fact that they are on the same side.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is where we are right now. We shall update you if there is further development grin grin grin

as in, that statement is not only wrong but stupid.

Someone will see the progression of Lagos from 99 till 2022 and believe that people supporting bat are doing it cos of tribalism or dont mean well for Nigeria but you following either atiku or obi with documented record of failure meant well for Nigeria.

Seriously, That's the dumbest statement I have read since I started following this thread.

This right here is the myth that really really really needs to be busted! Several people have asked, if the federal capital was moved to benue tomorrow and Abuja became a state and a first term governor served there and after 20 years ran for presidency, will the governor claim credit for the relative modernity of the state? If you've been to Abuja, you'll see a modern well planned city being constructed, with good roads, plenty high rise buildings and the look of a relatively modern state. Now imagine a governor in 40 years time claiming the responsibility of the state. Is that not madness??

This Tinubu built Lagos fallacy has to end.
Let's look at facts.

Fact 1. Lagos is indeed better than any other state in Nigeria by virtue of physical infrastructure and finance. And this has always been soo. Far before the yellow teeth-stained drug baron came into the picture. Lagos has always been the richest state, whether by federal allocation or IGR. Lagos has always received the highest level of federal government capital expenditure. So one cannot compare Lagos with other Nigerian states, ESPECIALLY the eastern states that were thoroughly decimated by the war few decades ago and literally had to rebuild from scratch.

Lagos has been the number one port of call for immigrants into nigeria by virtue of it being the administrative center, the corporate headquarters, the commercial nerve center of the biggest African market with the biggest population in Africa and also being the entertainment and cultural center of Africa. I mean, African movies and music dominate the entire continent. Again, All these, before the yellow teeth-stained drug baron came into the picture.
Now remember this is fact 1 why Lagos is better than other Nigerian states.

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Donjazet2: 2:10am On Oct 16, 2022
Now important to note that saying that Lagos is better than other nigerian states is really not the flex you think it is. Because on the whole, nigeria itself is in comatose. There is nobody living without a generator for himself, there is no hospital being powered by 24 hours light. There is no stretch of 10 kilometer road in the country without pothole. There is nobody who either doesn't have his own personal borehole or buys water from an uninspected water source. I won't even talk about insecurity. I could go on and on to talk about how terrible the ENTIRE country is. So saying that Lagos is better than other states is not really the flex one thinks it is because lagosians themselves are not exempt from the poor quality of life and suffering, direct or indirect in the country.

Hence you can see the high level of migration from the state itself, just like other states. No one in Lagos will tell you he wants to remain there if the opportunity for Japa comes just like our comrades here. But if you went to Qatar or Saudi Arabia, or Singapore, do you think their citizens are rushing UK and US? No be people dey rush them? But 30 years ago, these people were also "japaing" in droves.

I mean ask yourself this, Lagos is supposed to be comparable to Cairo or Johannesburg or even Abu Dhabi, but is it?? I mean, look at the trains we're celebrating, we are celebrating light rail when these countries have long since established that and are thinking high speed now. Can we talk of power generation, or their health care, or their roads, urban planning and general infrastructure. Quality of life nko?
By all global indices, Lagos fall below these cities. Lagos crime rate is higher than these cities.

So I ask again my brother, what exactly did the yellow teeth-stained drug baron "build that is to be bragged about??
