garfield1: First you have to answer which party with hold the majority in the senate. I dont see any popular LP candidates besides Obi. |

Aiel123: How strong is nwaoboshi? For me I feel he is stronger than nwoko |

garfield1:Only in his Ibuzor area. One thing more,He is up against a bag, plus a robust party structure. Funny thing is that Nwaboshi contested against Nwoko in 2019; PDP's primary election. Nwoko won at the lower courts while the SC reinstated Nwaboshi. Nwaboshi can't win. I'm not sure if he'll win more than one LGA. |

garfield1:Asking if a billionaire philanthropist is popular? Nwaboshi was once a PDP delta state chairman. PDP made him, not the other way round. Plus the senator did next to zero for delta north people. There's no project bearing his name in my LGA |

garfield1:We are talking about structure here and I am telling you that the PDP structure isn't strong. Obanikoro last minute was sacrificed for her for some reasons..... |
Re: If Obi Wins, who Will Be Senate President? by garfield1: 9:44pm On Oct 16, 2022 |
fergie001: Was obanikoro sacrificed or he lost primary ? Talking of structures, pdp has always done well in lagos despite their weak structures.lagos west is where most of pdp votes and victories usually emanate from so if pdp will win senate in sw,it will be here. In an ever changing polity, structures is becoming less relevant esp in a metropolis like lagos 1 Like |

garfield1:In many parts of Lagos APC, there is nothing like lost. You are 'blessed' before the Primaries. The elders settled for Obanikoro but last minute it was changed. The first choice was for Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, but she hails from the same Alimosho axis as Yayi, so it was zoned to Badagry Division (Amuwo-Odofin/Ojo/Badagry/Ajeromi-Ifelodun LGAs). Obanikoro is from Amuwo but he has been a Senator before, so Adebule who showed no interests to contest was just asked to go and take a bow at the Primary. She didn't undergo screening, infact reports are that she didn't even pick Expression of Interest Forms. It infuriated Obanikoro, so he refused to step down, went to the Primary and lost. My brother, I have spent almost my life in Lagos West, I was born and raised there, school everything... How many PDP Senators have they had? Is it now they will be sharing with LP, that they will have? Lagos West comprises 10 of the 20 LGAs of Lagos State. Whilst the PDP/LP might have some upperhand in 3 or 4, the big hitters with numbers still have APC in control. The three major factors now is this: 1. There is so much premium in Presidency than Senate/HoRs. Infact, I don't know who is HoR there for all parties, I only knew of Senate recently. So, most times people just vote anybody they are cajoled to because their priority is President. 2. There is some complaint that they need an indigene this time around especially in the Badagry Division who have gained nothing in the last 4 years). The LSHOA member in Ojo 1 is from Osun or Ondo State (he was my Secondary School teacher), Yayi is from Ogun State. So they need an indigene this term, especially in this axis. Adebule is a core Awori woman from Alaworo in Ojo LGA. Aero na Ekiti man. Even the HoA person they made sure he lost his primary for an Awori boy, Segun Ege. 3. You tend not to know what LP & PDP have done to themselves in Lagos State. 1 Like |
