I took off around mid-day from Orchid Road near Chevron in Lekki where I went to see a friend. The heat was terrible that I couldn't feel any effect of the AC. I approached the Lekki-Epe expressway, rolled down the windows to allow some fresh air and just when I did that, I heard a loud scream from behind. Looked around but didn't observe anything suspicious. Already on the expressway. Seconds later, I heard the loud scream again and then saw a lady who was struggling to jump down through the front window of a moving toyota Sienna. Her right leg and hands were already dangling from the window but she was scared to jump as the driver increased the speed. The driver managed to drag her back to the front passenger seat and then rolled up the glasses.

I know that I won't forgive myself if I don't do anything to stop this criminal from hurting this 'innocent lady'. That was how a hot chase began. I drove very close to observe the occupants, saw the driver hitting the lady with his right hand while his left hand remained on the steering. Thank God I have a comprehensive insurance on my vehicle. I hit the accelerator ...had about 2 or 3 near-miss ...drove past him ...made several attempts to block the Sienna in front but the dude still managed to maneuver. I was glad to observe that a Tundra and a fully loaded Korope had joined the chase.

Dude drove recklessly to scare us but we were adamant save for the Tundra guy who chickened out when we approached Mega Chicken. Moments later, the Sienna made a sharp turn away from the expressway and drove towards a street around Ikota community. There was a small traffic at the entrance to the street. A guy who was dressed in blue suit and two other passengers jumped off the Korope, began to bang on the Sienna while screaming 'OLE ...OLEE ...KIDNAPPER!. The traffic at the entrance cleared off a bit and the sienna guy continued driving.

Some okadas joined the chase but the driver wasn't ready to give up. We got to a bad spot on the street and the moment he slowed down, I managed to overtake and block him in front while the Korope pinned the vehicle at the back. The suspect and the victim came out from the vehicle and the crowd began to gather around them. That was when the real drama ensued.

Unkuu had an ear ring in his right ear, he was dressed in a white t-shirt and a green short. He had the look of a typical bad boy. At the point when the okadamen and the rest of the crowd rushed toward him, unkuu began to scream, 'SHE'S MYGIRLFRIEND ...I'M NOT A KIDNAPPER'. Hanty who had a bleached lowcut and dressed in a short gown appeared very apologetic, she wrapped her hands around his neck and attempted to kiss him but unkuu will not have any of it cos he was visibly upset. He separated her hands, spoke to her in their native language which my intuition interpreted as 'I'm not doing again' but she continued to beg. We were all surprised.

In less than two minutes unkuu jumped into his vehicle, kicked the engine and zoomed off leaving his supposedly girlfriend behind.

I felt stupid when I realised that I took all the risks for a wild goose chase.

I'm very sure that as I type this message, aunty is probably at unkuu's house still begging for forgiveness. Unkuu will have forgiven her but that kind of forgiveness comes with a price. He'd have given her the beating of her life for embarrassing him in the public and a make up sex will follow afterwards.

My prayer really goes out to those women in toxic and abusive relationship. They sure deserve some medals.

I read this story with rapt attention.

At a point,it felt like i was watching a dope Hollywood flick.. Lol.

But that ending turned it into a Nollywood film,because the action couldn't be sustained.

If to say you people wan do am well, everyone caught with the vehicle should visit police station, make dem interrogate them well, at least for causing public disturbance and street nuisance person fit die when they were driving carelessly and fighting inside vehicle.
