Hello my good people, Please can someone with a Visa ban from Canada apply for USA study Visa? My younger sister was given a 5 yrs ban from Canada after she applied for study last year. She now wants to try USA but needs to be sure if it's going to work out. I would appreciate a quick response from the gurus in the house. Frank, Anon and the rest gurus I count on you all for the right advice. Thanks. |

isabeatrice: USA and Canada share immigration data about applicants so your younger sister would most likely be asked questions in that line if she has been refused before. The visa officer would have gotten the information from Canada Immigration Authorities before she appears for the interview. I can not tell how much the ban would affect her chances for a student visa to the United States, and this would depend on the reason and the seriousness behind the ban. Her chances would be slim if the ban was for a fraud attempt or something fairly serious, which may hamper her ability to convince the officer. However, if the ban resulted from something she feels can be explained and defended convincingly, she can give it a shot. If she decides to try it, the ban must be declared in her DS160 but presented convincingly, showing eligibility. I hope you guys can make a decision that soothes you. Frank, Anon etc are active on the Canada Student thread. You can repost your question there to get thier view. All the best to your sister! |

Good morning. I posted this information to tell those awiating their decision not to be discouraged or get tired because there is light at the end of the tunnel. i am a frequent traveler to Canada`. My last visa expired during the Covid-19 period. I submitted application for renewal on December 2021 and i received my PPR October 2022. It's a visitor visa. Normally renewal dont take more than 21 days but this one took longer time to drop. i requested for my GCSM notes twice and many web mails. Those awaiting response should not get tired, get discourage and be persevere. I think their priority now are the Ukranians, Study permit and Work permit. nevetheless, we should not stop sending them a reminder web mail. All will end in praise. I key into your testimony Please share timeline [/quote] 6 Likes |

I am planning to visit a close relative in Canada , my question are 1, Do I need to attach an invitation letter from my close relative ? if yes, will the letter be address to me or to the embassy? 2 , All supporting documents like bank statement, land docs , business cac docs etc. should they be in a word or pdf doc in a single document or different documents . And if its one document, how do i arrange them for them to be easily view. 3. do i need to book flights tickets only ? or book and pay? if yes , can i book for return ticket with more than 6 to 8months interval? because i don't know the duration of the Visitor visa i will be given. 4. is it advisable to apply for visitor visa and Provincial Nominee Program at the same time? Thank you. |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by olasubomy: 2:58pm On Oct 17, 2022 |
Flakky26: 1. Yes, you would need to attach an invitation letter from your host, and this should be addressed to: The Visa Officer, Deputy High Commission of Canada, 4, Anifowoshe Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. 2. It should all be in PDF and look official and if your bank statement if having too many pages, you can submit a mybankstatement for a duration of 6 months to 1 year preceding the date of submission of your application. There is a dedicated section for these documents in the portal. You can also use a table of content to show the officer where to find what. Note: Avoid lumpsum deposits. 3. Duration of the visa is at the discretion of the visa officer. For a visit visa, I would advise you to put a period that would be reasonable to the officer that you still have strong home ties and intend to return home. You may express intention of visit for 2 weeks and you can be given 6months, 1, 2 or 3 years. It all depends on the reviewing officer. Your focus should be more on putting duration of period that will appear reasonable. For a visit visa, the shorter the period the better otherwise, there should be a good explanation for a planned extended period of stay. There is no harm in booking a return flight in advance. This would further proof to the officer your planned period of stay but does not affect their decision making whether to grant approval. 4. Dual intent is allowed in accordance with IRCC guidelines. You just need to proof that you meet the requirements for both visa categories. All the best! 1 Like 1 Share |

Flakky26:All you need is what olasubomy has said but With the current Visitor Visa approval delays I will not advice you to book down your flight so you don't have issues of looking for refunds or paying more funds to change your bookings because for you to change your booking some flights.may surcharge you and with the rate of delays in approvals on VV it's not certain these days however it's your choice |

To God be the glory Application date : 07/07/22 Biometric done completed :13/07/22 Passport request: 18/10/22 Pls note, I have had 4 US visas and my current US visa expires in 2024. Documents uploaded: Banks statements NBA credentials CAC documents Travel history (US only) Submitted using the old portal as I didn’t even realize there was a new one, had already submitted before I stumbled on that info……So I guess both the old and new portal still works but just depends on individual case. This is like 3 months timeline from application to ppr request. I wish y’all the best, may this also be your portion IJN, shalom 5 Likes |
