You don't understand. The whole idea of the protest won't be to debate but to rile up government into taking drastic measures. GEJ faced the same and had to call in the soldiers against anti-fuel subsidy removal protesters when he was in office.

However, what kind of harm can an unarmed protester inflict on an armed police officer?

We need to retrain and reorient our policemen to understand they are assigned to protect taxpayers, not shoot, kill them and tell them nothing will happen.
