Macphenson: It was Ojukwu that destroyed the first Niger Bridge that was later rebuilt by Gowon It is an Insult to the families of the People and Soldiers that died defending the first Niger Bridge Do you know that that People like Matthew Asimolowo lost his Sargeant father on the first Niger Bridge that Ojukwu destroyed It is not appropriate to name any Niger Bridge after Ojukwu who is known for destruction of the Magnificent first Niger Bridge It is even better to call it Azikiwe Bridge because at least Balewa and Azikiwe Built the first Niger Bridge before Ojukwu destroyed it 2 Likes |

That bridge is not property of eastern Nigeria neither was it built utilizing any of their resources. That bridge is not also exclusively meant to serve only eastern Nigeria as it connects the east to the west . Delta has as much right in determining who or what the bridge should be named after. Wasn't it same Ojukwu who they want the bridge named after that blew up segments of the bridge as his biafran forces where driven out of the Midwest? Why then name that bridge to someone who was literally a bridge burner and a divisive character through and through? You see why Igbos are the most selfish beasts on two legs? Not one kobo from their pocket was used to develop that bridge and here they are assuming it as theirs. Useless cretins. The bridge should be named after Brigadier General Adekunle. Idiots. |

christistruth01:You've been corrected.... It was the 2nd army under MM that sought to conquer Ọnịcha from Asaba. After they were beaten twice, they marched North to idah, crossed the river there and then invaded the NW territories of the Biafran Republic. But I'd agree with you, thousands of Yorubas drowned in their failed attempts to conquer Ọnịcha |

cheruv: An amphibious attack is no joke. Murtala was relieved of his command after several failed crossings . Mutiny was even brewing among the men before Gowon relieved Murtala of his command. It was reckless , suicidal and outright incompetence on the part of Murtala who was said to consult a Muslim soothsayer and announce his attack by blaring a beagle. And by the way , Murtala s war ended in Asaba after he was relieved. It was another northern officer that led the invasion from the north and not Murtala. 1 Like |

FakeIgboJew:His wartime career ended after the abâgana debacle, in which a Biafran company under one uchendu like that annihilated the entire division of almost 6000 men. That debacle was the last straw, after the AHQ had endured him despite his grievous miscalculations at Ọnịcha. Coupled with the fact that the 3rd army in the South was now losing ground to the Biafrans, Gowon decided to change all the commanders of all three armies that invaded Biafra. |

Emergingnation3:You people always say this to make your little droves feel better about yourselves. Listen and listen attentively, if it was in my power, I'd carve out that terror ravaged sinking shithole and shove it in your faces before you could even pronounce your name. Sadly, I don't have the constitutional powers to do so, therefore we just have to tolerate your crap for the time being. Hopefully, it won't be too long before the constitution is amended to allow for that to happen. It would be a glorious sight to see you apply for the Nigerian visa, escaping from ESN terrorists, just the way you escape from them to safe havens in other parts of the country, especially the West. So the next time you say that shitty "dying to share the same country with...blablabla" crap, just know the Mkpurummiri you took has probably take effect. 1 Like |

FakeIgboJew: It was only because Gen Alani Akinrinade had a big fight with Gen Muritala Mohammed in disagreement and left back for Lagos in Anger that saved his life by the following day Gen Muritala Mohammed had drowned all Gen Akinrinade's former Soldiers inside the River Niger Newly Recruited Soldiers from Lagos Oyo Osun States that had never been trained how to Swim or Amphibious assault If Gen Muritala Mohammed had not been a Hausa Fulani he would have been Court Martialled and sacked from the Army because Gowon and Katsina at the Army Head Office had already warned him not to try it but to go through Idah Bridge that was already in FG hands About 3000 FG Soldiers died around the First Niger Bridge as a result of the Fiasco Muritala was not allowed to Command any Soldiers after that Gen Olutoye actually wrote in his book that it was some Marabouts that told Muritala to carry out that Operation |

Even if peter Obi becomes the president the igbos (his own people) will turn against him in less than 10 months. They are all cursed; nobody likes or wants them around anywhere around the world. Don’t let them in your house, don’t employ them and don’t let them in your life. They are selfish, ungrateful, dishonest, wicked, they lack unity among themselves and severely allergic to basic common sense; they represent a complete package of bad news. |

omenka: IGBOS SUFFER FROM COLLECTIVE NARCISSISM. ALSO KNOWN AS GROUP NARCISSISM. IT EXPLAINS WHY THEY ARE LIKE THAT. Trust me, it never even occurred to the Ohaneze chiefs the spit in the face of the country which a demand to name the 1.4 billion dollar bridge after a separatist warlord who took up arms AGAINST the country, actually is. That is narcissism for you. It's all about what the narcissist wants. YOUR interests and concerns don't matter. ''In social psychology, collective narcissism (or group narcissism) is the tendency to exaggerate the positive image and importance of a group to which one belongs. The group may be defined by ideology, race, political beliefs/stance, religion, sexual orientation, social class, language, nationality, employment status, education level, cultural values, or any other ingroup. While the classic definition of narcissism focuses on the individual, collective narcissism extends this concept to similar excessively high opinions of a person's social group, and suggests that a group can function as a narcissistic entity. Collective narcissism is related to ethnocentrism. While ethnocentrism is an assertion of the ingroup's supremacy, collective narcissism is a self-defensive tendency to invest unfulfilled self-entitlement into a belief about ingroup's uniqueness and greatness. Thus, the ingroup is expected to become a vehicle of actualisation of frustrated self-entitlement. In addition, ethnocentrism primarily focuses on self-centeredness at an ethnic or cultural level, while collective narcissism is extended to any type of ingroup. When applied to a national group, collective narcissism is similar to nationalism: a desire for national supremacy. Collective narcissism is associated with intergroup hostility.'' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collective_narcissism |
