Hello Nigerian Nurses. Please I have a question and I need your guidance. Please, is it possible for someone to do a transfer or change of School of Nursing to another School of Nursing in different state? For example Let's say, Somebody in Ogun State College of Nursing wanting to transfer or change to Lagos State College of Nursing or any other School of Nursing in Nigeria? How possible is it? Do you know of anyone that has successfully done this and how? |

Hello Someone please advise!!! Please I'm an RN and a nursing mum with a month-old baby and I just got a job offer with a Trust (NHS Scotland). I have not received COS yet but I am planning to relocate as soon as I get the COS I would love to travel first then my husband joins me later because of his job. Should I take my one month son with me or should I leave him behind so that my husband brings him later? What are the challenges involved in relocating and preparing for the OSCE with a month-old baby? Will the Trust allow me to stay in the accomodation with my son? I need guidance please 1 Like |

Do employers allow people to come with their kids and stay in the accomodation paid for by the hospital in preparation for the OSCE |

It's not advisable to come with your baby for these reasons: Most employers will not allow it(I've never heard nor seen). The duration of the accommodation is usually short and you may be required to start looking for accommodation shortly after you come. Accommodation is not easy to come by these days. You are likely going to share an apartment with other pre- registered nurses like you. Some other reasons I cannot remember for now. I can't tell you what to do with your baby. The decision is between you and your spouse. All the best. Benny4ramesis: |

Benny4ramesis:Congrats on your new job offer. I’m happy for you. Have you written cbt? It will be difficult to leave a one month old baby behind. I think once you get to uk, I think a child care will help while you go to work.. |

I'll be writing CBT next week. I already booked. I had a job offer since last month with the NHS Scotland. Hope to relocate by November all things being equal. Definitely I will consider engaging a child care although I suspect it might be costly but it's better on the long run than leaving my son behind in Nigeria |

Hello everyone, I studied MSc pre-registration adult nursing in the UK and wish to relocate to the US. Does anyone know the best way to go about credential evaluation because of the lack of mental health, genealogy and paediatric theory and practice hours for those of us who studied adult nursing? I will really appreciate any guidance or assistance. |

Benny4ramesis: My take may be very unconventional, but I would advice you as someone who knows the types of challenges you will face. Don’t go with your child!!!!!!! Reasons: -There is no free child care for you. -Except you have lots of money to rent your own place and pay for an external person to help out. -Most day care are more expensive for kids less than 3mths, that’s if you even see any at all. -Do you really want to leave your 1mth old with people you do not know in the uk?? -You can’t take baby to your osce prep class so you will be highly distracted. -Your income at this stage will not pay for your living expense and child care. My advice is to leave the child with the father and have family help you care for the baby by assisting your hubby. -Write and pass your osce IST before sending for your family -Or you can choose to wait a little longer in naija and resume on a later date if your employer permits. -Don’t have mum guilt, it will be hard but just know that it is more difficult on you and hubby than on the baby. -Breast milk is great but baby will also thrive on formula so don’t let super momma’s guilt trip you. In the end, do what works best for you and your family. 4 Likes |

Arhmiee: Let me know how this turns out for you. I know CGFNS doesn’t give a favourable report and most nurses were required to take courses to fill the gaps. |
