Good afternoon everyone.

Please lately I counted the number of shock absorber (Camry V6 2008) I've bought within the last 365days I renewed my car papers. I discovered that I've bought nothing less than 7 shocks absorber (I no dey use this car carry goods ooo, just me and one other occupant that is always in it whenever I'm driving and we both are very slender). I don't drive this car frequently too. Even where I park the car, my shock dey weak so I felt it was as a result of fake shock absorber that I keep on buying (23-25k for the front legs).

Right now I've decided to buy KYB shock but again there are too many fake KYB shock with red cartons. So I made research and I came across Monroe shock absorber. I intend buying it from this website ( https://mypartsng.com/product/lexus-es350-shock-absorbers-front-right-left-by-monroe/ )

or should I go for the KYB

Guys which one of the two products/brand names would you advise? I'm fed up of the money time and discomfort being experienced by those fake shock. Please help

Why not go for tokunbo....

Don't buy repaired. Always buy tokunbo,direct tokunbor. U sef when u see the rubber inside the shocks with springs and hear the smell,u go know say na tokunbor.always have a trusted part seller,he might dupe u of 4 to 6k but its better than mechanic buying u repaired disguised as tokunbo. Fake ,naija used and repaired ,and sold as tokunbor. God forbid. Buy tokunbor original,70k. I can help u. Pls don't ever buy brand new,they are all fake. I'd rather buy brand new bushings than shocks

I mean complete. Fromt and back. U will have rest of mind. When i mean tokunbor. Not the one that has being in shop for 2 month. How will u know fresh tokunbor,it will have sticker,serial nos,oil will be leaking from side of spring, pole,u will clean your hand after inspection.naija used tokunbor. It will be very clean,no oil,it will not have follow come spring,and u wont be able to detect if its being refurbished or not e go be like brand new,but na naija condemned used,packaged as toks. The shi t iz,have one trusted seller. Might not be a seller of shocks or suspension,but will k now one or two that sells legit,direct from abroad,when it lands ,u will negotiate. If u cant go thru all that bullshit,enter ebay,or amazon,look for seller with at least 90 to 100 positive feedback,read buyers comments,from there u go decide
But anything abroad, so far u see comments,legit,bro its legit. Dont get scammed by mechanics,swallow your pride,be there,teach them. Na your motor na,anyrhing wey miss from engine bay or under,so far nor be dependant on engine performance, u go jasi.

Pls buy direc tokunbo,go to owode onirin and look for your car,they are about to butcher. You will be lucky. Pld don't buy brand new shocks. They are all fake,pakacged and rebranded by Igbos

@Easyguru, if you are in Lagos, pls find your way to ASPAMDA, and locate Andykaros shop and get original shock for car but you have to check that car very well in case other suspension parts are contributing in killing your shockabsorber

I'm in Lagos and I stay close to aspanda (Lasu Precisely). I'm trying to understand which would be best to buy because I don tire to dey buy shock absorber like someone under spell. I barely drive out yet the shock keeps on leaking.

However,. The following come shock that came with the car KYB (although weak) lasted almost a year plus but ever since I changed shock like this, it has been a rough ride in terms of expenses.

Most guys here have told you to go for tokunbo so heed......just incase u feel Ur mechanic is ripping u, I stay close to lasu, afromedia to be precise, I got a mechanic who can get one for u, at reasonable price and toks.

Naija used shock absorber. Quality toks absorber as from 20k upwards per 1. Those shocks wont last u mote than 2month. Shock absorber of 7k na nonsense na for tokunbor

Buying a laptop tokunbor battery for 8k u sef go know say na manage and repair noni. Well dey manage am till owoe dey. Just dey guage the shocks every week and look for oil stains or drops by the top of rubber or under spring. If e dey leak oil,welcome to nigeria..
