@ lek4sure, thank you for the information.

Please I'd like to ask if there is possibility for such agency to recruit someone that wears long hijab.

Because it will be unreasonable to go from Lagos to Abuja and get disqualified due to mode of dressing. I want to know now, so I can take my mind off looking forward to their invite.

Kindly respond. Thanks

What you have in your brain, your technical skills and experience does not have anything to do with your dress. We are not in a western nation for you to dress in their cultural way of life. Nigeria, we understood our diversity, we respect people's culture, belief and way of life in as much as we are not indecently dressed. Nobody will condemned you for morally dressed, less concerned what your attire looks like. Prove your skills, knowledge, experience and abilities to deliver exceptionally.

But I think it'll be unfair to ask people from far away to come to Abuja by road considering the security risk now. Hope they'll book flights for those they invite for the interview? I'm not joking angry

You are so funny, no be only flight, they'll even book fight for you.

[quote author=leks4sure post=117748210]Panel Interview with the top management is scheduled for November ending at the commission's office in Abuja. Invite would be rolled out some days before then.

Top five candidates acording to performance in the online test and quality of CV based on qualifications and experience for every role advertised are expected to be shortlisted.

Being among top scorers does not give one the guaranty of making it to the next stage. A lot of guys that had high scores have been dropped because they don't have cognate experience and skills for the expected roles. All fresh graduates were dropped also. This recruitment is strictly for experience hires.

Some roles have stiffer competition than others. Some managerial roles candidates like principal managers even performed poorly in the CBT but would be invited as they are vastly experienced.

Circa 400 candidates needed for the next stage to select about 70 candidates.

All the best to everyone!

Best wishes to those that have previous experience (hands on experience) and good exam scores. From the beginning, those advertised roles required previous experiences. Emphasis was made on it unless people who did not pay attention! The test in between the submission of application and Competency interview was a process not essential criterion in the hiring process for experienced hires.

Please I can't recall if we submitted CV during the application, or how did they know those who have work experience?

Thank you sir.

If it's about technical skills and year of experience, I know I'm qualified.

I just wish they adopt virtual interview or interview within our region than travelling long distance for an offer you're not sure if you'd be taken at the long run.

Finance, security, present engagement, family, etc. I hope they put all this into consideration

How much is flight compared to what you'll pay for ransome God forbid. Make we dey reason these things nah! They should schedule it based on regions or state hdqrts for positions with national spread. And for positions with limited slots, flight arrangements should be made for those coming from far places since the candidates won't be much. Or they shedule an online interview at the nearest headquarters close to the applicants.

Just so you know, someone who doesn't have any experience but extremely well connected will make the final 70 people..

Regardless of how transparent a recruitment is, they would always give slots to senior ministers, senators and head of FCC... AND THAT'S THE GOSPEL TRUTH

Nerc should send their officials to various states to conduct the interview. Travel by road to Abuja wouidnt be easy due to security challenge now in the country. Financial and time constraints are also another factors.

Nerc should pls work out modalities on how to make the interview venue closer to applicants.

My brother, I'm not antagonizing your claim, even that would be the best and reasonable option they should indulge in, but unfortunately you and I know the kind of blessed Country will find ourselves.

They would prefer to stress people, in other for them to use that privilege to disqualified some applicant, let me stop here jareee.

"someone who doesn't have any experience but extremely well connected will make final 70 people" is not likely to be successful in the role offered. There is no doubt about cutting edge advantages, it is an advantage when a candidate is deemed-fit. An experience programmer with the programming codes/languages skills required to perform well on the job having strong ties with a minister, or a senator is obviously having a good strong recommendation amongst others qualify candidates. Keep putting our best as usual and never be discouraged

Thanks for the update Leks4sure. I’m sure you’re part of the Testmi admin. To be honest you people are dishonest, fraudulent and corrupt. All these screening of Quality of CV and years of experience for applied roles should have been done before shortlisting for exams. You know it’s strictly for experienced hires then why invite the fresh graduates?. Later you people will say our leaders are spoiling Nigeria

I am very sure you know the roles advertised were for those with experience because each role has the years of experience they want for each candidate applying for them.

The question now is why did you a fresh graduate apply for such role? You were hoping for some miracle? Get out of here my friend undecided

First of all I’m not a fresh graduate, I’m vastly experienced for the role I applied for. I’m just stating facts. Screening should have been done in the beginning so that only qualified candidates are invited for aptitude test. But because Testmi is being paid based on the number of candidates that sit for the exams, they invited people irrespective of qualifications.
Secondly some roles were actually for freshers that have completed NYSC check those Analyst II positions in Legal & Licensing and Consumer Affairs.

In line with what you said, I discovered the initial screening was not properly done.
One of my friends applied for Ass. Safety.... and the position was for 6 years experience, but he had just 3 years experience. He was so surprised to be shortlisted and he took the test.
A lot of freshers will fall on this category according to the update from @Lek4sure.
It would have been best they were not invited in the first place instead of raising their hopes only to dash it all of a sudden, perhaps after a very sound test score.
But again I felt if the recruiters were to properly screen the applicants, it will delay the process, owing to the volume of applications they had to handle at that initial stage.
Well, the lord is our strength as we wait.

Thank you, Leks4sure. So this talk about NERC recruiting just 70 people is real after all. It is sad that our Government keeps advertising very few vacancies when they can employ many people. They don't even have the decency of revealing the number of people they need in advance. I think this recruitment style is unfair to the thousands of unemployed and under-employed youth in the country.

They just waited my time again. sad

You are actually right but you know this is Nigeria, dey don't really care about all that.. All we can do is hope we also make it with them, but what I can say positively is some will get this stuff even without meeting the criterias. Again we saw that vividly in the just concluded NCDMB recruitment

Well, the lord is our strength as we wait.

It was unfortunate that the initial screening was done inaccurately that was what gave birth to this clause "Where it is discovered that any candidate who scaled through the initial review stage does not possess the minimum years of experience for the applied role, they shall be placed on the appropriate role that matches their years of experience in the Commission’s scheme of service, where vacancies exist in the commensurate roles" This phrase "they shall be placed on the appropriate role that matches their years of experience in the Commission’s scheme of service, where vacancies exist in the commensurate roles" simply means they shall be ditched in a black hole. Who have the time to be matching candidates with the roles that matches their qualifications and years of experience when candidates could not have done that by themselves in the first place?? it better candidates save themselves and the other party time and stress when they don't meet essential criterion for jobs. It's better to apply for roles we are 80 percent fit in while considering key requirements for the job!
