Early this year,my family and I decided to use the undeveloped part of our property for a family garden.

Even the children were not left out as they planted some maize. It has been an interesting experience so far as we are all enthusiastic about the whole process. We take turns to tend to the crops.

Some of the crops we planted include:
* Maize
* Potatoes
* Okro
* Water leave
* Bitter leave
* Spinach
* Jute leave (Ewedu)
* Beans
* Yam
* Fluted pumpkin
Other random crops we have in our property are plantains, bananas, pineapples,scent leave, lemon grass,pawpaw and mango.

I get manure from a nearby poultry to boost the crop growth.

I will be sharing pictures to encourage anyone who wants to take same bold step. We are beginning to enjoy some of the harvests.

This initiative has helped limit the purchase of some family needs.

You can ask for some of those seeds at the market. For water leaf,I planted the stems of the ones I bought from the market.
You can also sun-dry okro. Once it is very dry,you remove the seeds from the pod and plant.
You can check the internet for more resource on how to go about most of them.

Bountiful harvest from my garden.

Nice one. I encourage Nigerians to go into farming even if it's small scale.

Farmers never go hungry.

All that shit planted there when harvested won't last you a month so what's the gain in it lol
Re: Pictures From My Garden by Elijahrona(m): 5:23pm On Oct 23, 2022
Is that sharp sand I'm seeing there? Your soil is nutrient-depleted and you should start seeing dead plants or plants with yellow leaves soon.

Enrich the soil with fertilizer, rotted manure, food waste, or anything organic a month or two before planting your next batch.

You have a primitive way of thinking, it's called garden for a reason.

Kudos OP, if everyone with an uncultivated land can do this, it'll reduce food shortage we are experiencing drastically.
