Good day everyone!! The USCIS approved our petition on September 8 2022, and we hoped that the NVC would contact us in two weeks to a month. But we haven’t got any email from the NVC. We sent an email to them and we keep getting automated emails. And their call lines seems automated too. Please, this is getting more frustrating for me. What can we do?
Please, anyone no a phone number or email address I can contact? Do I still have to sit back and wait?

Hello everyone. Please I need info.

I'm about to start my K1 visa journey. I was previously married by customary marriage. Bride price has been returned. My passport still bears the ex's surname until further notice.
1.Will need any proof of no longer being married traditionally? If so, what can that be? Will an affidavit suffice?

2. Is it just better to say I'm single and cohabited and had kids with the ex so I don't have to bother with proof of any sort ? How does that work with me and my kids having his surname?

3. My birth certificate carries my maiden name. Will I need to show a proof of "change of name" at any point in the filing of the I-129f or the rest of the process?

Pls I'll appreciate any help. Thank you

Finally My application have been reviewed recently after been paused for more than a year now. I have been asked to proceed with the next step which is medical.
Quick question: do I have to complete the immunization vaccination now or I can take some and complete the rest when I arrive at the US?

I’m here to share the developing stories that went after posting the above quote just to encourage other Following this thread.
About 1hr after my visa have been approved, I got a call from the embassy to come back that there have been an issue, luckily I was still within the city as I haven’t left for my city. So, it happens that my already approved visa have been refused because of my student visa application I did back in Nigeria few years back that was refused. It happened that I was banned on misrepresentations they found on my application.

To move forward, the chief consular said I am qualified for a waiver and should apply for form I-601
July 2021 - form I- 601 applied and received by USCIS
March 2022 - got ref
April 2022 - ref evidences sent
May 2022 - Form I-601 approved.
This time it doesn’t go through NVC like the initial application but everything is done afresh; medicals and interview
August 2022 - embassy received official approval after several emails.
September 2, 2022- 2nd interview approved
September 19, 2022- received passport with visa
October 4, 2022- enter the US.

Total duration for all applications- April 2019 - October 2022. And still continuing as the journey continues

This forum have been so helpful in getting help and informations. Like I said in the beginning; this is to encourage someone that it will surely come through, it just requires patience. Good luck to all awaiting approval. Cheers

1. U still have to get a divorce certificate to show u both r not together 2. No need to worry about ur Ex name on the birth certificate of ur children ur petitioner will include all ur children on d i-129f as a stepfather
3. I didn’t get dis part was it ur birth certificate 4rm birth u talking of here.
I believe u can change ur ex name on ur passport to ur name back look for good immigration officer

4. And the pictures, should I just put them together in an envelope or a photo album

1. Photocopies of your IRS is not necessary as you or your fiancé can easily print out more copies if need be.
2. You need photocopies of your I-134 affidavit of support
3. Make copies of your chat screenshots
4. If you put your pictures in an album or envelope it is good but album could be easily accessible for you to handover if asked to show pictures.

Shouldn't be an problem, US only cares if you overstayed in the USA.

They don't care about other countries......

if you are in a country and you are not allowed to be there, you need to go back to your country in order to process the K1, you can't have your interview in a country where you are not suppose to be.

as long as you file for your home country from there should not be a problem. I can see a problem as you will have to get a police report from the country that you are not suppose to be in, as least I believe you would, I could be wrong but b4 u leave try and get ur police report
