Pls your advice is highly needed here house. I am thinking I might get Master's degree easily because of long study gap since I finished my B.Eng.

seggzzy:
Good day all the gurus in the house who have been helpful. I have been following this thread for a while.
Last year, I got admission with Niagara College, Welland, Canada for two different courses: 1- Computer programming (undergraduate diploma certificate- 2years
2- Industrial Automation (Graduate Certificate- 1 year program)
For reason of career progression I accepted Industrial Automation which I later deferred. For the sake of visa and employment purposes, Pls I need your advice on which one to go for. Hope a year program is not too risky? Thanks I have B.Eng in Elect/Elect. Engrn 13yrs ago with 2.1. I currently work as Utility Engineer in manufacturing industry.

Come on, for a transfer of a thousand dollars and a deadline that can cost one their admission?

Yeah, was just surprised at the cost. $45 at black market rate is 32k naira.

Thank you.

Yea that's why people opt for form A. The challenge there is the 4-6 weeks wait time and payment deadlines

Good luck

Please, did you eventually get a slot for medicals at Qlife?

No. I’m not sure what’s wrong with their site there are never available slots on it. I even check in the mornings to see if it time dependent but nothing. I think you’d have better luck with IOM.

Johnstan, thanks for your input, I'm not a novice when it comes to form a transaction.
I have been processing form A as far back as when you walk into the bank and pick up the form, then initiate and consummate all at branch level.
I'm well aware that it takes at least 4 weeks, I only wanted to know from the poster his timeline and if 4-6weeks timeline is still maintained.
Cheers
johnstan:

Got a mail from UBA stating that it now takes 4 - 6 weeks.

Your application is only just about 4 weeks so chill and hope it doesn't extend to 6 weeks.

Good luck.

Exactly why I didn’t go for it. There’s a deadline.

Also, I have been trying to register on tradesystem portal but I have not received any OTP after inputting my BVN. Do you know how I can address this?

Please, I need urgent assistance and advice. I applied for tourist visa in March 2020 (before the lockdown) through an agent here in Nigeria, and there was no update on the application. So, I applied for study visa in July this year by myself. I have been waiting to get response from the IRCC and I just got a response on Saturday saying there was a request from me (that’s my agent) to my bank that the application fee (my previous application) should be refunded. Now I have to provide valid point in 15 days as to why I requested for the refund and I need to pay the $185CAD. The payment isn’t the problem, but I contacted the agent and obviously, he knows about it but claimed he didn’t make the payment from his card, that someone else made the payment for him, and he’s not been able to reach the person.

NOTE: the agent didn’t use the “Use of Representative” form.

The agent got back to me yesterday saying the person he contacted to help make the payment has finally responded to him, claiming that the application fee was reversed. I’ve requested him to get a bank letter showing that it was a reversal in error from the bank but he’s not giving me any hope of doing that. I don’t know yet to figure out how to go about this case properly and what evidence to attach to my explanation. As it is now, I only have the application fee payment receipt with me.

It looks like the guy intentionally reversed the payment and he intentionally wanted to scam IRCC.

I think you should just apologise profusely, say that you weren't aware of the reversal, and attach proof of the new payment. You could also attach proof of the payment for your student visa application and ask them to let you know if there was a reversal for that as well (even though you know that there wasn't).

You may also want to get in touch with someone who has dealt with an issue like this before. Maybe try contacting an immigration lawyer. You can also try posting your question on reddit.com/r/ImmigrationCanada and canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board to get different advice, then decide for yourself.

Hello good people!

I am in a dilemma, and I need advice to help make the right decision.

I used an agent to help with bank statement . I submitted in June this year, did upfront medical. Last two weeks, I got a mail "Procedural fairness, fraudulent bank account..."
On checking the account, it was all made up, and zero naira.

Do I accept and apologise?
Or do I get an immigration lawyer to handle the case?

I'm scared to have a ban, 5years is a long time.
Kindly contact me: janetojo90@gmail.com

I will truly appreciate your suggestions. Thank you

Base on my experience, truth be told. I would advise you to tell them the truth and apologise then have your 5yrs ban then its won't make things difficult in your reapplication after 5yrs. If you denied the truth, you are making things complicated the more in your file case .they already know n have fact that is fraudulent.

I have had the issue sometimes ago, I applied using an agent (GVC) but in my application form I filled that I didn't use any representative but with the same doc the agent used for many visa applications, so the officer detected it was an agent. I was given "procedural fairness" I quickly contacted the inexperienced agent, they told me I should deny it,which I did with confidence ,I was later refused with 5years ban.
To truncate the story, after 5yrs banned when I ordered my GCMS NOTE, I was disappointed in my self for using an agent,Though then I was desperate to travel to Canada after my undergraduate studies in Ukraine.
The Note showed:
1.that I denied the truth when I was given a second chance. Note: The second chance does not mean you will be given a visa but to reaffirm if you're been truthful and not to have a bad record.
2. They had concerns that I forged my employment or that of my financial sponsor. The agent used his company account to make lump sum in my account and claimed I work with them.
These gives me headache each time I reads my note, because it was never my wish to have bad records with them. Now is gonna take me more work to convince the visa officer if I wanna reapply, though 5yrs has lapsed
I'm writing this to you so you could learn and every other person reading this. Don't use fraudulent docs in your application, if your docs are not complete and you're refused you have right to reapply and make adjustments than to have bad records and be banned.
My 50cents for you.

@softdudekay

Do not say that you used an agent, I repeat, Do not say that you used an agent I am saying this from experience
Although I didn’t get a 5 year ban based on my refusal letter, but it contributed to my last PR refusal and that’s part of what I have to defend now in a new application.

NEVER EVER BRING UP NEW ISSUES FOR AN OFFICER TO DIG THROUGH …..my 2 cents

Please, is your case a case of agent? Because after submitting my current study permit application by myself in July, I now contacted Canadian based licensed representative (agent) in September, and he gave me a consent form that I signed, but it wasn’t declared in my application because I had submitted already. And now they asked me to explain why I didn’t declare that in my application and that I should send them the “use of representative” form which I believe is the consent form.

Please share and advise.

Thanks.

@Oyefhunke,

It's so unfortunate u are having challenge with your Agent on this journey.we have always encouraged applicants to understand how this journey works even if you prefer to use Agents eventually, Anyway;

1.) It depends if you have access to your profile or not and majorly on the terms of agreement you have with the Agent.Issues like this could jeopardise your chances of getting your application approved cos it appears there is a strong disagreement already.

1.)you can do your medical and submit without him if you have access to your profile.

2.) Medical is a little above 45k at both approved facilities......IOM (abuja/Ikeja) and Qlife (Victoria Island)

3.) The hospital will forward to IRCC while you also send the copy of medical sheet that will be given to you after the medical exam. You are to raise a webform to IRCC Nairobi and also email them.

4.)Nobody can tell how fast your application can go but God.You will only need to do all the needful and trust Him to do the rest. Hoever, considering that you have less than 2months to resume school, I will advise you go ahead and do the medicals(upfront) to save time.

I hope this helps.

thanks....
I have contact my agent and he said I can do the medicals but if anything go wrong...e wont be held responsible...I also told him I will upload something on my portal and e said am not uploading anything...my questions now is ds
1.how do I create a web form to ircc
2.wat address do I use to mail dem
3.i want u guys to put me through so that there will be no issue
4.do I need to get my profile from him cos am not owing him

i think we just need a dose of the ugly truth here.

right there on the IRCC portal and even in the forms your filled, there is a line where they ask you to give a disclaimer if you have a representative and if anybody helped you in filling out your forms.

I think as adults, we need to take responsiblity for our actions regardless whether we are ignorant or yet. Before embarking on a venture such as this, you are supposed to research and know the critical requirements, hence if you decided to flaunt the rules, then it is your own cup of tea. Screaming I did not know, na representative / agent do am, it is all in your name, it is you records that will be soiled.

They are going to use you as an example to deter others.

You won't believe me I still get emails, asking for ideas how to fake PoF, as if i help folks for visa walaha...

His case is complicated. I gave him that advice because it wasn't even his agent that made the payment, and he truly was not aware of the reversal.

He can't say that he reversed the payment, neither can he say that his agent reversed the payment because they're both lies. He could say that he used another person's card to pay which is true in a way...

But I think he should just take responsibility and apologise without explicitly explaining what went wrong. Then go on to attach proof of the new payment and proof that he genuinely paid his student visa application fee without any reversals.

I also advised him to get advice from other people who may have experience in this situation before he decides what to do.

Do you have any ideas for him? Please share if you do.

@ the bolded, it's very disappointing... they will just keep making things harder for all of us including themselves...

SoftdudeKay On second thought, maybe you should just tell them the whole truth and prepare yourself for a 5 year ban for misrepresentation in case you get it.

You can include copies of your email conversations with your agent to back your explanation.

When did you submit your passport? And to which VFS office? Lagos or Abuja? Mine was sent from Lagos to Abuja last week Wednesday and in Friday it was in transit to IRCC Abuja. Today I tracked and it's still in transit to IRCC office Abuja

Yes my passport has been returned to me on Friday. I submitted it last Friday. And I think Abuja is now processing stamping. [/quote]
