THE QUESTION NOW IS MY DAD IS AND LPR WHOM IS MARRIED TO A CITIZEN OF USA AND HE HAD PLANNED THAT IS FILING FOR ME AND SISTER THIS YEAR, I REALLY WANT TO KNOW HOW LONG DOES THIS TAKES. OR IS IT POSSIBLE FOR HER WIFE TO PROCESS FOR THE BOTH OF US AND HOW WILL IT TAKES....

they have approve our petition I want to ask how old are you if you are over 21 don't bother waiting for it cause it forever 7 to 10yrs of you are under 21 maybe 7 to 1yr

Why are you confusing the guy? The wait time for F2B, that is Adult children of legal permanent residence is 6-7yrs wait. Its Siblings Filing that is 14yrs wait.

Your dad's wife cannot file for you. It's your Dad that will file for you. If she does, they will collect the money, but they will not approve it. But bear in mind that if you get married while your dad is still filing for you as a permanent resident, the case will be revoked. But if he is a Citizen and you get married , your case will be moved to F3, which is about 11yrs wait, if not more.

Wait for your dad to become a citizen as you will automatically become eligible to derive your citizenship from him

I think their dad must derive citizenship before they were born to be able to automatically derive citizenship like that.or have the rules changed

Married F3 is longer now... Statistics show that over the last 2 decades all categories have increased timelines. Some have moved by just a few months like F2B in the last ten years which is not bad. Others by years unfortunately.
If he wants to benefit from his father's US status then he needs to look at this as a retirement plan and do other things. Nothing quick about family migration

If he really wants to relocate properly then Study route is good especially in STEM courses or he should consider other countries

My advice to you is just forget the petition application for some years. Don't even track your status online cos you have a long way to go. Set your alarm clock to five years from now, then you can start checking it up. Lol

You and your married sister started as F2B category since your dad filled when he was a LPR.

Since your dad is now a citizen, your married sister will move to F3 and you unmarried will move to F1.

According to visa bulletin showing current priority dates, link below, they are currently attending to F2B of September 2015, F1 of December 2014 and F3 of November 2008.

Your application was filled in 2019. Therefore, you still have a long wait before they get to your turn.

bro, you're less likely to get a visit visa if your dad has already petitioned for you to migrate to the United States. The visa officer taught you will most likely stay back in the US and apply for adjustment of status hence you were denied.

They want you to stay back in Nigeria till your case becomes current, then you will be required to submit required documents and your interview date will be booked.

As an unmarried son of a US LPR, the waiting time is 7yrs, but it might come earlier.

there is how this things work...the waiting times varies...mine didn't reach that 14years.

They normally use visa slot not used by other categories and push it to F4( siblings of US citizens)

you should ask of his age first of he is under 21 the wait time won’t take that long
Btw the guy who asked questions is not even responding

am 35 years hold so please i really want to know if the waiting period of time is worth it because my dad said they are going to approve my case status by next year but currently now the status still says case currently on review..and i want to know the waiting period

Use this to calculate your wait time

Another advise I have for you is that you are currently on F2B which is for unmarried adult children of LPR. If you get married during this process, you will be moved to F3, married adult children of US citizens.

F3 has longer wait time. Your priority date is in 2019 and they are currently on 2008 for F3. 2019 minus 2008, is 11 years from now for you in F3.

To avoid being moved to F3, remain unmarried but you can have children while waiting.

If you need more specific information further, just ask

For you on F2B, your application was submitted in 2019, they are currently attending to September 2015 applications. Your wait time is around 2019 minus 2015, which is 4years from now.

This is assuming the current pace of movement remains same.

Another big advise I will give you is this: If you plan to apply for any non-immigrant visa while waiting for this F2B to be ready, DO NOT LIE on the application or during interviews in order to get the non-immigrant visa.

Also avoid using agents to apply for your non-immigrant visa. This is because any lie on your previous non-immigrant visa applications will affect your F2B visa up to a refusal.

It can be 3 or 4 or 5 years to reach your turn.

It depends on number of applications before you and if force majeure like Covid disruption don't happen.

Just keep checking the visa bulletin periodically to see how they are moving on the priority dates.
