ETH was excited about working with CR7 and possibly asked him to stay. Unfortunately CR7 missed preseason and at his age that was a huge mistake. I am sure that immediately he gets to full fitness and sharpness ETH will make him a starter as long he can fulfil his duties both on and off the ball.

Nobody expected Ronaldo to fall off this sharply. Time will tell if it was due to missed preseason or if it is Father Time starting a terminal decline. One thing is certain though, he miscalculated by missing that preseason.

You Cristians have to realize that it is not about being a stubborn goat but about ensuring the whole team pulls in the same direction and you can't have another player dictating to the manager.

Do you know that 2 of the major reasons why the team collapsed at the end of last season were:

1) Ronaldo led a player revolt against Rangick's pressing tactic
2) There was a leadership tussle between Ronaldo and Maguire who were not on speaking terms by the time the season ended, and players were picking sides.

Distractions like these will destroy any chemistry this team is building. it is more than the quality of the individual player. ETH knows that if he allows Ronaldo to set his own rules, he (ETH) would lose the players.

My stance on the whole thing has calmed a bit. Few days ago I didn't want to see him in a United shirt again cuz that episode was too embarrassing and was a pure sabotage. But he's a legend of the club, he deserves a 2nd, 3rd and even 4th chance.
