I am wondering: Can't Nigerians in Diaspora Commission recommend to the Federal Government to reciprocate the treatment by running a check on all UAE citizens resident in Nigeria in respect of offences, however minor, and charge them to court for sentencing to jail term, without option of fine.

Hit a number of business interests of UAE in Nigeria with sanctions.

Suspend all flights operation of Emirates Airlines in Nigeria till further notice.

There must be something that the Federal Government of Nigeria can do to put political pressure on the UAE.

UAE is trying to be legally uncivil and we can reciprocate same.

Nigeria in the past, Yes, was feared by nations
Nigeria of today: Is broke and needs every penny.

1960 was too early

Some of you will just be talking nonsense...an American basketballer Brittney Griner has been in Russian jail because she has a cream with weed. She was sentenced to 9 years imprisonment and lost her appeal yesterday. Ignorance is not an excuse in the face of the law... privacy is very important and it's high time we learn to mind our business

Honestly, the way people's privacy rights are infringed upon is disturbing. You just record people without their consent and post on the internet.

Who was the complainant?

According to the law, if the person obtains court order.

If you don’t know what to say keep shut . Americans are jailed outside of America if they break the law outside their country . You just want to use all means to rope the Nigerian government after Glaring evidence it’s not Federal Government faults . Use google to check American nationals jailed outside of the states before you display your ignorance online.

Shut up.
Not for petty things like this , they are instead deported .

You are a goat, if you have sense ,you would have brought forth a case study to drive home your point.

Truth is that UAE citizens in Nigeria are very insignificant in number. They don't travel that much as their country is well set up.

You're a vomit-eating dingo. Russia is fighting a proxy war in Ukraine, against America (NATO). BG was basically collateral damage. And Brittney did not have "a cream with weed," it was her electric cigarette cartridge that had THC oil. F*cuk outta here, you smooth-brained no-hoper!

My brother, if FG hit some of their citizens in Nigeria with trials in court and they are jailed, without option of fine, they will be forced to negotiate for prisoners swap.

If FG hit their business interests, especially Emirates Airlines. You will see them cave. Nigeria's contribution to their economy and Net National Income may be as little as 10% but it is significant; UAE will feel it.
How important is the girl for her to be the reason Nigeria and UAE will have diplomatic issue?

Yes if she's an American she will be detained. Countless American journalists have been detained in Arab countries for different reasons in the past. Africans traveling don't even bother to read the laws of the country they're traveling to. They think all this Arab countries get pity for anybody papa. They have the most strict laws. Let her serve her time or pay the fine. Others go learn from her mistake.
AK481:
What if she is an American, will she be jailed ?

The simple truth is that the world have lost respect for Nigerians under buhari.

She is a hero and her government must treat her like one.

"She can still appeal If she wants " the government spokesperson said this trash ... shocked

Do you mean that the UAE officials have a right to detain her illegally and she can't do a recording.

What are the officials afraid of in the video recording?

Why do officers of the law in some advanced countries have body cameras on duty. Should we assume that the person they are engaging on the has rights that are being infringed upon since they are often not aware of the cameras or it is without their consent.

You are ridiculously empty in the brain, what do you mean that Nigeria is owing Emirates Airlines? Is that what you were told or you deduced?

Can you prove that Nigeria is owing them? There is no point engaging you in any discussion.
this is the minister of aviation admitting yesterday . You are a very dull person with zero intellect .

Can you identify where the Minister of Aviation admitted that Nigeria is owing Emirates Airlines money in the article you referred?

Abi, you can not read aswell. Find someone who can read to interpret to you before you engage in arguments.

We need such laws in Nigeria to reset the humanity of our people. Otherwise why would someone be videotaping someone about to jump into the Lagos lagoon without lending a helping hand?
