Fact Only: Okocha's Endorsement Of Tinubu Speaks Volume Of Lagos Diversity Feeling gratitude, and not expressing it, is like wrapping a present and not giving it.William Arthur Ward Earlier this year, when the former Lagos State governor and APC presidential contender celebrated his 70th birthday, some ex-Nigeria international players paid a visit to the Jagaban to express their gratitude for his contributions to sports development in Nigeria. Football legends present on that day included, among others, Peter Rufai, Ike Shorunmu and Dosu Joseph, Austin Okocha and Nwankwo Kanu, Taribo West and Uche Okechukwu, Obafemi Martins, Tijani Babangida, Victor Ikpeba, and Mutiu Adepoju, ALL MADE MEN. REad Also Obi No Get Certificate? INEC Throws More Spanners As Electoral Body Reveals Tinubu, Atiku Others Certificate Status Recall that superstar and King of Soccer, Austin Jay Jay Okocha, who was so good that he was named twice, released a remark on Tinubu's developmental accomplishments, saying, "Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Is The Reason Why I Can Call Lagos My Home." This phrase has returned in recent days and is currently trending. Okocha's appreciation of Tinubu's great performance has no doubt ruffled feathers in some quarters, but it is to be expected. Prior to Tinubu taking office as Lagos State's governor in 1999, the state was plagued with squalor, anarchy, street gangsterism, dead institutions, a high crime rate, limited highways, etc. With Tinubu's election, the state began to take a holistic approach to all of its problems, and a methodical solution was launched. Today, Lagos shines out in terms of income generation, good train systems, decent institutions, nice hospitals, and so on. The creator of the 25-year master plan, which has been consistently followed to date, deserves credit. Read Also From Running Mate To Winning Mate: Kashim Shettima Legacies Guarantees Victory For APC Every Tinubu successor has demonstrated that a foundation was laid; nevertheless, while Lagos, a single state out of 36, was growing, Nigerians as a whole were complaining that the country was reverting back. States like Cross Rivers, which had some good innovations launched by Donald Duke and began out well and appearing more promising than Lagos, are no longer even known for anything hopeful. So Okocha has expressed gratitude that, instead of going backwards like most other states, Lagos has thrived and even created new cities. Without a question, one of Lagos's successes is the assurance given to investors, both foreign and local, that Lagos is a safe place to invest; this could only be achieved via sound leadership that has created the enabling environment and security to grow. How many investors do we have today who are from other states investing in Anambra State, despite the fact that the state is known for having the most billionaires in Nigeria? Who is investing in Enugu? If you can't be Lagos, at least can you be little Lagos? Okay, pick one local government, like Ikeja or Lagos Island to be like. Do you know that Delta State used to be home to all the major oil companies, including Chevron, Shell, and others? All of dem don JAPA go Eko? Lagos no get oil O. These are the concerns we should be thinking about. Asiwaju Tinubu made Lagos welcoming to all tribes and nations, and his cabinet was a rainbow coalition of all tribes. Igbos now serve in the Lagos House of Assembly; was this feasible before Tinubu? Feeling gratitude, and not expressing it, is like wrapping a present and not giving it. See, Okocha understands what it is to be grateful, and he is perfectly in order. Today, famous people who visit Anambra are murdered like hens. Peter Obi, who had only invested in a brewery in his state, was unable to establish his network of stores in Anambra or elsewhere in the South East. No surprise former Labour Party National Chairman, Dan Nwanyanwu said all Peter Obi did in Anambra State as a Governor was invest in a brewery so his people could promote kidnapping and theft. Peter had the opportunity to transform Anambra into a mini-London or, in the worst-case scenario, a mini-Lagos. The same Peter Obi would upload photos of himself going about Lagos without escorts, yet we see pictures of him being guarded by unidentified gunmen and all security networks during his visit to Anambra state after years of living in Lagos. Aside from Atiku's university, American University Yola, what other investments has the former vice- president attracted to Adamawa, a state that is blacklisted for terrorism? So let them say: When things go their way, they hail; when things go against them, they lament. This is similar to how Obidents have been spotted applauding Sheikh Gumi, a terrorist negotiator, just because Peter Obi visited him. The poorest state in Nigeria today is controlled by PDP governors, yet you are outraged that Jay Jay Okocha, who is from the South East, is praising Tinubu's visionary legacies. Well, like Tinubu said just vote for me and they would stop complaining, "as e dey pain them e dey sweet us." Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah is the Chairman and CEO of Bush Radio Academy. Copyright protected. Thiefnubuu no go see draw for this election. He already lost majority southern votes. No southern president have ever become president by losing majority the southern region. His own case is worse because he not only lost southern votes, he also does not have majority Christian votes accross regions, the Muslim votes he is depending on will be split into 3 and shared with Atiku and Kwankwaso. We can’t afford to have a president who will increase tuition fees by 200% n tell us education isn’t meant for the poor We don’t want a president who will kill people n dump their corpses inside river We don’t want a man whose only achievement for complete 8 years of governance is only a brewery We don’t want a president that can’t b trusted with anything to the extent his children have to record him anytime he’s making a statement so he doesn’t deny it later We don’t want a president who will not care for the citizens n workers to the extent that doctors went on strike for complete 13 months? Do u know d number people that died during that time? We don’t want a president that will b afraid to go out on Monday in his own state 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Nigerian baby politicians and their ego. Amaechi confessed he is scared to enter his State because of Wike. Is that the President Nigeria needs? While Tinubu was a deliberate and methodical politician, Osinbajo was drafted into politics. There is nothing in his nature that indicates he would not have happily remained a comfortable middle class lawyer had he not met Tinubu. Meanwhile Tinubu is a politicians Politician. A deliberate leader of leaders. He was a Senator in his late thirties. He was fighting Abacha in an organised fashion, through NADECO, at an age most Nigerians today are still trying to decide what they want to do with their lives. Amaechi, Osinbajo etal should drop ego and support Tinubu or they can get lost. How many battles have either won and what battle has Tinubu, who has faced more than most, lost? Some will mention Obi. The coward was pleading with OBJ on his knees yet still got impeached. Tinubu not only stood up to OBJ but totally retrenched Obasanjo's influence, through the PDP, from the SW. Nigerians are too petty and tribalistic. If not it will be obvious only Tinubu can weild power productively on behalf of the South today. Buhari did same.on behalf of the North because he is authoritative and as iconically supported as Tinubu is. Difference is that Tinubu is fairer, more tolerant, and more detribalised and more modern than Buhari. He will get more results than Buhari by far. We should not waste the turn of the South indulging weakling any section of the country would bully with ease as happened to GEJ. Are we not ashamed at how terrorised Nigeria is becoming because North does not want to grant Nigeria modern and more effective policing and security architecture? US, UK and European nations are evacuating their citizens from Abuja currently and we are still clowning around. The rescue mission belongs to Tinubu alone. I am tipping Tinubu to be an Awolowo of today. A father of the rebirth of Nigeria. He will never fail.Unless of course death stops him. 1 Like 1 Share |

Ekundayo7574: Indeed. Lagos is the State all Nigerians move to today and never leave because it is so much better than where they left. Courtesy of Tinubu. We have no option but to let him do same for all Nigeria. 1 Like 1 Share |
